I still haven't found a home and the rescue (Famous Fido in Chicago, IL) that takes care of me is starting to fall under some financial strain. Hey Fans! Look at this stud with a few of my fans. Now I am neutered, healthy, up to date on shots, I real man's best bud but will get along with ladies as well, and in serious need of a forever home. I love my new foster's place but this is very temporary. Please share me and my story far and wide and let's get me a new FOREVER home.

Healthy (except for my cataract but that's nothing a few drops can't help), about 12-13 years old, neutered, great with kids and especially comfortable with men. Looking for a home in the Chicagoland area.

hey folks! I sure am pooped from all the fun I had at Famous Fido's Hambingo last night. Sure was a blast! All those people saying how cute I am (though I prefer handsome, I'll take what I can get), but at the end of the night no one wanted to take me home......Please keep sharing my story. I've been waiting so long for someone to come and just bring me home.

Happy Tuesday! This guy had a great weekend! I stayed at a volunteer's house recovering and got to hang out with her husband. My previous owner was a male and I really miss male bonding time. I'm definably man's best friend!! Not that I don't love ladies too, but because of my past I just trust men more. I home with a man and a woman, or a bachelor pad seems to be a perfect fit. Please keep sharing me!!! Now that I am all neutered, there should be no reason not to take me home :)

Mornin'! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Me, I ran around a bit in the backyard and saw lots of guests at the Famous Fido adoption event.....but no one took me home :( I'm crashing at a friend's pad for a bit, but in a week or so I gotta be out! Back to the kennel life I suppose. I'll tell ya, I'm not looking forward to it, the noise and the confinement, its not where I thought I would spend my senior years. Let me know if you or someone you know is looking for a handsome, older gentleman roommate. I'm a good boy who's just looking for a warm home to lay my head.

Hi everyone!!! I am so taken back and in awe of how many people have seen me. Thank you to the handful of people who have inquired about adopting me, its sad because I really need to find a home soon, like yesterday soon or I will be back sitting in a cage. Famous Fido cares so much about us they do not like to adopt out of the Chicagoland area....just in case something happens. SO if you know anyone around here who needs a good dog, PICK ME!!!!

This boy landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control when owner died. He is living in a foster home where he has proven to be good with people of all ages – very tolerant of being handled. He probably lived as the only pet in the home, as he doesn’t appear to know much about living with other pets. So, he’s looking for a home as the one and only pet with people who will enjoy him during his golden years.

Halk is not a player … but he loves taking walks and greeting all the people he meets. He likes to be pet and hugged. He also enjoys exploring his surroundings and sleeping.

Why hello there, I'm Halk the Coon-hound mix. Maybe you could help me, I'm looking for a new forever or foster home somewhere near Chicago, IL. Know anyone who's willing to give an ol'boy a chance?

I'm about 12-13 years old (healthy and fully vaccinated) and until recently I had a good home with plenty of love. But then my best friend got really sick and in an instant I was abandoned at Animal Care and Control (an open door shelter) by his people family. For a while, I just laid there, I missed my owner so much and it gets lonely when you're used to being with someone all the time, even more than for most dogs, I imagine. It didn't seem like long until I was told I was gonna be "put down" soon. In such a short time, I lost my owner, my warm and loving home and now I was going to lose my life, too. But you know what? Through it all I never lost hope and like a dream Gloria and the rest of the crew at Famous Fido came and got me in my 11th hour and I got a second chance to find a new home.

I have been fostered before, but that didn't work out. I'm crashing at a volunteer's house now, but since I'm not neutered (at 12 when I was abandoned at ACC, I was a little to old to have the procedure done) I can't stay long since she has other dogs. I stayed at STAY DOG HOTEL last week and had a great time (they said I was great except for not loving the crate, but can you blame me?). I would be a great companion to an older couple or family, but would rather not live with other animals or kids. I am really not used to such an uncertain life and really need a good home (foster or permanent). I'm getting really lonely and just need some love and attention. Please share my story and help me find a place to live out my golden years in peace. I really am a great dog who deserves a real chance at a good home.
