🚨 BIG NEWS: Fee-Waived Adoptions All August! 🐶🐱

Chicago Animal Care and Control is proud to once again participate in Clear the Shelters, a nationwide adoption campaign led by NBC and Telemundo. From August 1st through August 31st, ALL adoption fees will be waived at CACC! ❤️

Every adoption still includes our standard screening process to ensure the best possible match, waiving fees doesn't mean lowering standards. In fact, here's what the research shows:

✅ A Maddie’s Fund study found that 93% of dogs and 95% of cats adopted during fee-waived events were still in their homes 6–12 months later.

✅ The ASPCA and Humane Society report that pets adopted with waived fees are no more likely to be returned than pets adopted with fees.

✅ These pets also receive the same level of veterinary care and love as those adopted with fees.

Removing adoption fees during these events doesn’t reduce the quality of homes. ❤

🚨 CACC Update 🚨

As of this morning, we are caring for 355 animals at Chicago Animal Care and Control. In just the first two weeks of November, 564 animals entered through our doors — 345 of them were dogs.

🐾 Adopt and Make a Difference 🐾

Adoption fees are waived for long-term animals who have been here 30 days or longer. We are open daily from 12 PM to 7 PM, and if you're planning to adopt, please arrive by 5:30 PM to allow enough time to complete paperwork.

📌 Responsible Pet Ownership Tips

✅Microchip your pets and make sure your contact information is up-to-date!

✅Keep a collar and tags with current information on your pets at all times.

✅If your pet is at CACC, please redeem them immediately. Delays mean they’re occupying space needed for another animal in need.
