Keeping your Betta healthy starts with the right tank size! 🐠💧
Smaller tanks get dirty fast — causing stress, sickness, and a shorter lifespan.
Give your Betta the space it deserves and watch it thrive. 💙

Overfeeding is the #1 cause of bloating and swim bladder issues in bettas.
These little fish have tiny stomachs — about the size of their eye! Feed them only what they can eat in 3–5 minutes, once or twice a day, and skip one day a week to let their digestive system rest. 🐠💙

Feeding your betta the right way keeps them healthy, active, and stress-free. 🌿🐠
Stick to a simple routine—small portions, consistent timing, and a mix of quality pellets + live or frozen treats.
Remember: only feed what they can finish in 3 minutes or less!
Healthy habits = a happier betta. ❤️✨

Did you know? 🐠 Betta fish must access the surface to breathe using their labyrinth organ! If they can't, it can lead to serious health issues. Always leave space at the top of their tank to keep them healthy and thriving. 💙

Betta Fish Rescue is a private charitable organization (seeking 501(c)(3) status) founded in July 2020. We obtain our fish from classified ads, online forums, and sometimes from big-box pet stores. We do our best to never pay for fish but to save them from a life of misery. Sometimes we have to expend funds to rehabilitate our rescued fish. However, we typically cover these costs from donations that we receive and don’t pass on the costs to the adoptive parents. However, we do charge a small adoption fee of $30 per fish. You can also purchase Betta FIsh Rescue merchandise, stat-up kits (includes new tank, decorations, fish food, water conditioner, etc.) from our online store. Any profits obtained from the sale of these items will go directly back into our fish rescue.
By providing these fish with a healthier and a larger living environment, medical treatments, quality food, and loads of time and love, we can help them regain their health and confidence. Collaboratively they can become the best betta that they can be, so they can then enjoy a full and vibrant life with their new adoptive family members. If you love bettas as much as we do, we hope you’ll join our charitable cause. At Betta Fish Rescue, we specialize in transforming deathly ill fish, who have lost the will to live.
