Lionheart Cane Corso

Lionheart Cane Corso AKC Breeder of Merit. Lionheart Cane Corso is a small family owned kennel in Northern California. Our puppies are raised in our home, with tender loving care.

We insist on a stable temperament and correct structure according to the Cane Corso standard, in essence a quality Cane Corso of sound mind and body. During the very beginning of my involvement with this wonderful breed, I was fortunate enough to find competent mentors who helped satiate my appetite for knowledge about the Cane Corso. These noteworthy breeders were very generous in sharing their k

nowledge and experience with me. They helped me understand the very important role breeders undertake, that being today's breeders are the guardians of the future of the Cane Corso. Linoheart Cane Corso breeds only to preserve the best possible qualities of the Cane Corso. We are very active in the conformation show ring, we attend working events, and most importantly we put a large emphasis on the health of our corsi both mentally and physically before they are considered to be breed worthy. We give our puppies the very best possible start in life following a protocol of early stimulation and socialization. We have studied up on breeding better dogs, choosing sires, and choosing puppies for families who we feel will be able to continue to be the guardians of this special breed. The Cane Corso is a large dominant working breed. It is not a breed for everyone. We carefully screen our potential buyers and have a very strict criterion that needs to be met before we place one of our puppies. We as breeders of the Cane Corso are committed to the pursuit of our goal to breed excellent quality Cane Corsi. We plan to continue to immerse ourselves in the world of the Cane Corso which we love so much. We couldn't have had so many accomplishments with our dogs alone; it takes patience, time, family and friends who worked together with us to be the guardians of his great breed. Thank you all!

Let’s get one thing straight:
We NEED ethical dog breeders.
Not backyard breeders.
Not puppy mills.
Not “oops litters.”
Ethical. Responsible. Passionate. Breeders.

Because the truth is this:

Responsible breeders don’t just produce puppies — they protect entire breeds.
They’re the reason we still have healthy working dogs, therapy dogs, sport dogs, and family companions with predictable temperaments and solid genetics.

Responsible breeders raise puppies like they’re staying forever.
Socialization, early exposure, enrichment, confidence-building…
None of that is “extra.” It’s STANDARD.

Responsible breeders take dogs back, every time.
For life.
No questions. No judgment.
Because their puppies NEVER end up in shelters, ever.

Responsible breeders breed for preservation, for improvement, and for LOVE.

And here’s the part people don’t want to admit:
Without ethical breeders, we’d lose the breeds we depend on and adore.
Service dog lines.
Duty-driven working breeds.
Family-safe temperaments.
Sound structure.
Predictability.
Purpose.
History.

Shelters are full because of irresponsible breeding —
not ethical breeding.

So next time someone says,
“Just adopt,”
remind them:
You can support shelters
AND still value ethical breeders.

Both matter.
Both play crucial roles.
Both are needed.
Because the breeders doing it right?
They’re the ones keeping dogs healthy, stable, and loved for generations to come.

MRI studies have revealed something amazing about dogs. Their love for their owners goes beyond food, toys, or even other dogs. Scientists discovered that when a dog smells its owner, a special part of its brain actually lights up more than it does when the dog smells food or another animal.
This part of the brain, called the caudate nucleus, is connected to feelings of love and reward. The reaction is so strong that it shows dogs aren’t just recognizing a familiar scent, they’re feeling joy and affection.
It proves that when our dogs look at us or come running to greet us, it’s not just habit. Deep inside their brains, they truly love us, in a way that’s powerful and real.

🔥 INTRODUCING LIONHEART’S HATERS GUNNA HATE LITTER. 🔥

They say don’t take things personally—
We say: make it personal, make it legendary.
This litter was born with thick skin, fierce spirit, and a whole lot of heart. They're not here to blend in or beg for approval. They’re here to walk their own path, side-eye the doubters, and do it all with a strut that says, "Yeah, we heard you—and we don’t care."
Built for loyalty, raised on attitude, and backed by love.
Because at Lionheart Cane Corso?
The only rule is: stay true—even when the haters hate.

It’s been almost 8 years since I had the honor of welcoming my own Sammy babies into the world, and I am beyond thrilled to share that Sammy has been bred to our stunning girl Sabrina! 🐾🤞🏻
Sammy has consistently produced extraordinary, stable-minded babies, and I can’t wait to see the incredible possibilities this combination will bring. Even at 11 years old, Sammy is still as happy and healthy as ever! I was absolutely shocked to discover he still has swimmers, the old man’s still got it in him! 😆
Stay tuned for more updates confirmation will be the second week of April! 🌟🐶

Thank you Niome for another amazing litter announcement!

***NO AVAILABILITY AT THIS TIME***

I'm beyond thrilled that Wednesday has been bred to CH Dei Dauni Alvaro TT! This extraordinary breeding is a dream come true, as Alvaro’s legacy lives on through his final litter, made possible by frozen semen. Having had the privilege of using Alvaro in the past, I'm deeply grateful for the chance to build on his outstanding genetics, which have consistently produced remarkable stable healthy kids and grandkids for me and many others. I eagerly anticipate the incredible possibilities this combination will bring! Thank you Shelley for the opportunity to use Alvaro one last time!

Thank you Niome Dubois for another amazing litter announcement.

“Dear Past And Future Puppy Owners

I loved them first. I thought of you years before you even realized. I planned for and cared about your baby long before you started thinking of adding to your family. I worried about your future with that puppy before you knew there would be one.
There were hours upon hours spent researching lines for the parents of your puppies. Going over breeder after breeder, choosing not only my pet but looking for a dog that will make you your pet. Worrying if you'd be happy, if I had chosen correctly and your puppy would grow up healthy and happy.

Going over puppy after puppy with fellow breeders, running over my program with as many knowledgeable breeders as I can, determined to not miss anything. Tracing lines back as far as I could, learning the ins and outs not only for my knowledge but so that I was informed, prepared to go over every detail with you, to answer the questions that sometimes you don't even ask.
Then there's years of watching your puppies parents grow. Loving them and enjoying them as part of my family. Taking them every where I can, training them, socializing them, watching how they fill out.

Asking myself I had made the right choice in both of them. Scrutinizing their conformation, how they move, and their temperament. There was the stress of health testing. Praying not only that my babies were healthy but that they had the genes to make your baby healthy.

Finally came the time to put your puppies parents together. For the next 63 days I worried, I obsessed, I grew excited. I watched your puppies mom like a hawk. Making sure my baby was ok, monitoring her diet better than I do my own. Concerned that she was getting enough of the right nutrients and that your growing baby was getting the best start possible. I spent hours on the couch, floor, and dog bed with her watching her tummy grow and anxiously waiting.

As your baby and mine grew I laid my hands on her tummy and felt the first movements of your puppy. As the time grew close I spent most nights in the nursery with her. Making sure she didn't go into labor without me knowing, in case something went wrong and one of our babies needed help. When labor started my whole life stopped. I spent every second with her.

Your baby was born into my hands and I held my breath as I cleaned them up, watching for movement and breathing, cleaning them up, checking them over, and wondering if you'd love them as much as I already did. I helped your babies brother when mom got tired and he was stuck. I cried when your babies sister didn't make it.

For the first 8 weeks most of my life was filled with your baby. Watching them grow and making sure I was doing everything possible to make sure they started their lives the right way. Making sure each one was getting enough to eat, enough socialization time, that they were de-wormed and given their shots. I was the first person they saw when they opened their eyes. I spent my weeks playing with them and keeping them safe.

I searched for you and interviewed you. As you spoke I tried to read your character. Would you love them as much as I do? Would you bring them in as part of your family? Would you care for this tiny life that I brought into this world that I am responsible for? Some of you were turned away but some of you were welcomed into our family. The day you took your baby home was harder than I'd ever let on. I was excited for you but I was also terrified. Had I chosen correctly? Were you who you seemed to be?

My love and worry didn't end there. I thought about your baby regularly, saddened when I didn't get updates, ecstatic when I did. I hoped you were caring for your baby the way I care for mine. I answered your questions happily and answered them again just as happily to your babies siblings new parents. When your puppies sister ate a couch I stayed up that night she was at the vets, waiting to hear that she was ok. When their brothers parents decided he no longer fit in their life I welcomed him home, sorry that I had chosen wrong for him and promised him it wouldn't happen again.
I loved your baby first and I will never stop."❤️
