Message for Daycare Dog Owners ’s.

No daycare this Friday and next Monday. We apologize for the inconvenience this might cause.

Holiday weekends and vacations are making us short on daycare spots. We will do the best we can to accommodate you and your pup. You are all very special to us.

We will look ahead a few weeks and let you know if we have no room on your regular day.

Chris and Dolores are doing a great job. All our pups go home happy. Violet is doing a good job helping in the afternoons after school.

Please bear with us. We are going to do our best to make every one happy.

As of today, Gussie’s is not accepting any more daycare dogs. We have reached our limit. I’d be happy to put you on a waiting list.

Those who do have regular days, first if anyone who has a Wednesday spot could switch to another day, it would be helpful. Also, if you are a no show on your regular day, we will charge you for the day. We have never gone up on our daycare rate and I’d like not to have to.

We are very busy and sometimes Dolores and Chris need a minute to figure out the best place for your dog (s). We have a lot of boarders so things can get tight. I say this because a few owners have gotten a little rude or sarcastic to my helpers and it’s not necessary. We all do the best we can.

If you are not a regular daycare client and want to go on a list please let me know.

It’s so nice to get feedback on my awesome staff at Gussie’s. Chris, Dolores and newbie Violet take such good care of your pups.

Kita (Husky) spent a day last week at daycare before boarding this weekend. Her mom wrote the following.

I also wanted to let you know how much I appreciated Chris showing me more pictures from her daycare day and he was actually able to tell me about how she was while she was there, it just showed that she was actually being watched and paid attention to instead of just hearing “she had a good day” at pick up. It made me feel much better about boarding as I’ve never boarded any of my dogs before (but I would love to try to establish a positive boarding experience for all of them at some point in the future)

He was great and I just really want you to know how much better it made me feel to be able to hear just a small thing like a street sweeper going by made her nervous but she quickly got over it, just that in itself showed she was paid attention to. I’ve utilized another daycare for my little dog and the only thing I got at the end of the day was just that she had a good day with no detail, it makes me feel better that she’ll be with people who are in tune with the dogs. And you’re helping me on such short notice too, so I greatly appreciate it all

To all our daycare clients: We are really busy next week with boarders due to vacations and school vacations. That being said, there is not much room for daycare. I will be able to take some on different days. I will finalize the schedule by tomorrow evening and will know how many spots are open. Please text me at 207-590-0204 by Friday to let me know which day you want daycare. Right now, I have no open large kennels on Monday and Tuesday. That may change. So, if I make a list and someone boarding cancels, I can call you. If you don’t text, please call me, not the kennel. Sorry if this inconveniences anyone, but as always, I can and will do house calls to let your pup out and/or walk him/her.

Thanks for helping out with scheduling while Chris and I work through this. So far, it’s all good.

Gussie’s will be closed for daycare next week due to a full kennel of boarders during the school vacation week. If you absolutely need a place for your pup next week I can do day boarding. Please just message me!

Unfortunately, Jasmine is leaving her position as manager of Gussie’s. Thankfully, Chris will be staying on.

With the passing of Jerry, my life has drastically changed and I’m still adjusting to these changes.

Gussie’s and your pups are now my top priority but it will take a few weeks to get into a rhythm that will work for all of us. So please bear with us.

After a year and a half of taking care of my brother in Florida and then Jerry, I’m a bit out of the loop with some of the dogs and owners. Chris is awesome and will guide me through.

All that being said, I want to say thank you to Jasmine for the years she managed Gussie’s. The wonderful job she did and wish her the very best in her new venture. Jasmine, please come and visit. You will be missed!
