This has to be one of my favorite things to do now, transitioning bits! I finally got Harley in a curb with a roller, I wait for them to tell me they are ready, then I do a lot of ground work teaching them how the new bit works and such, and eventually they are ready to ride in it! I like to use my cool down as the time to ride in their new equipment, so after a normal workout we will switch bits for our cool down and do some basic maneuvers to make sure they are getting it. I usually do this a few times until they are ready to have a full ride. Harley was showing off a little today and even jogged in it (woot woot!!) Did a few pivots, spur stops and was neck reining quite nicely. Ended the day with a treat and a rinse off! She is such a good girl!

PERFECT PROJECT HORSE!!
Rio is an 8 year old Warmblood gelding, green broke and ready to go in any direction! He has completed 30 days with me and is riding better than ever! Rides both western and english, this guy has a very nice trot! Super sweet horse, I love him to death and if I had the room he would be mine 😂 who ever ends up with him won't be disappointed, he is a super fast learner and loves doing new things! WCH is now offering saddle cleanings to help support some athletes on the WFW Equestrian Team! Proceeds will go toward stall fees, cow fees, gas, and much more! Here are some examples of work I have done so far, I'm charging $20 for just a saddle and $25 for a saddle plus any additional tack you would like cleaned! Harley got a workout today. She was a lot hotter than I wanted, but for riding alone and being buddy sour, she did really well, really enjoy the fact that she is making so much progress!

This boy is so much fun to work with! Lately we have been working on just about everything, but most of all we have been working on staying calm and standing still. Rio is a little too curious, by that I mean, he likes to be all up in your business, so curious in this case equals moving a LOT. For the past few weeks I have been getting him to keep his distance and finally today I didn't have to correct or push him away once! The tantrums have subsided as well! In the next week or two I will post some comparison videos!

Rio is a 7 year old warmblood that I have been restarting and working with, I believe this was his first time with splint boots on! It always surprises me how quickly the get used to it!

While I was down in California, I got to work with this guy on some desensitizing with the rope, he handled it like a champ! I currently have one horse in training and has come along way, we will have pictures and videos soon of how he is now!

A horse is not just a pet. Barrel racing is not just a hobby.

When the wind is whipping through my hair as we race toward the barrel, fully believing that with a couple of undetectable cues she will set and turn, I learn what trust is.

When I finally stumble inside after brushing, and braiding, and bathing, and icing, and wrapping, and patching, and feeding, and watering; I learn what sacrifice is.

When we round that final barrel and I ask her for all she has as we run home and she pushes herself to the absolute limit, I learn what partnership is.

When I tackle her neck and cry into her mane, and instead of walking away she turns her head toward me and nuzzles my arm, I learn what love is.

May we never forget what a privilege it is to call these magnificent animals friends and partners. When a horse enters your life you will never be the same.

This year I am making a change (if you have previously taken lessons with me, you are exempt) there is a change in price, regular lessons with one of my horses will still be $20, a lesson that I travel to you for will now be $25! Look ma! No bit or spurs!! Buck is a little rough so excuse the poor video lol. This is what can be accomplished with time and patience, when I first got buck, moving off of pressure was a foreign subject to him. So needless to say, it took some time to get him where he is now! Still using some neck pressure so he can associate the two, I'm pretty happy with what we've got going on!

It's been a while! The other day I was a little bored and decided to trim the boys' bridle paths. I like to use clippers to get the job done, so I was a little sceptical that Yodi would let me use them, but it was worth a try. At first Yodi was flipping out, but once those clippers touched his nose, p**f, completely different horse! He stood there as if he had done it a million times! This is what I like about these kinds of horses, you never know what you are gonna get!
