Meet the herd!! Listed in order of arrival
🐎 🐴 👿🦄 🐎 🦄🐎
1. “Hooper’s Girl (Hooper)”, 7 yo registered thoroughbred mare. Never ran an official track race but we all know she’d clean up if only we’d let her at ‘em. Red mare ears personified when anyone but her is getting loved on.
2. “Moonboy”, ~12 yo Morgan/AQH gelding who landed here through a series of unfortunate events and turned out to be a perfect pony ride pal. Thinks he’s all that (and isn’t entirely wrong).
3. “Apple”, ~7 yo Shetland gelding. You know what they say, ‘the shorter the pony the closer to Hell’. Apple is…..quite short.
4. “River”, 3 yo BLM Mustang from the Antelope Valley HMA in Nevada. Adorer of human children and merciless biter of cows.
5 (left). “Aqua”, ~22 yo paint mare. Rescued at a very low weight, gentle as can be with all creatures great and small (until there’s hay involved🫣). More kid safe than the average bicycle, but currently taking a break from work while she gets her voluptuous figure back.
5 (right). “Timber”, ~13(???) yo unregistered thoroughbred gelding. We were told he was head shy, aggressive, and hard to handle (and 5 years old lol) when he was dropped off. We were his last stop before the auction (or worse) and, plot twist, turns out he’s the snuggliest muffin on four hooves we’ve ever met. Still figuring out how treats work. Bit mom once but in his defense he was aiming for the hay and he said he was sorry.
6. “Prince”, 6 yo OTTB. Temperament = finely tuned race car or very large lap dog, mood and weather dependent. Probably the only one here who is actually as fast as he thinks he is. Newest arrival, already trying to unionize the thoroughbreds for a grain ration increase.
Should we introduce the dogs and cats, small mammals, or cows next??🧡
