We got a long way to go with these guys poor little feet. But steady and consistent trims with a proper diet will help them heal right up!

When you become the new steward for a horse, you acquire the care or lack thereof, that the previous owners gave to the horse. These new owners are starting out on the right track getting these babies set up on a consistent trim schedule. They live on very hard ground and have soles and frogs that are hard as rock! But we're working to get their feet comfortable and on the right track!

Do you have stubborn horses? Standoffish, refuse to pick up feet, or stand for the farrier? Most of the time, it's about building trust. Work with them and build that trust and communication so that they'll stand patiently for your farrier. Sometimes, I may not be able to effectively give the horse the care it needs for safety concerns for myself or the horse. But through consistency in training and work, we can get there!

Thrush season is coming!! Make sure to schedule your babies for their trims. We got some more to go on this girl with opening a couple of her heels up. But she's made so much progress since we started working together. A start to now post will be coming soon!!

Sometimes, you gotta know where to stop to keep the animal sound and walking. Even though there is more work to do here on this pony's feet, it's something we will need to steadily tackle over time to make sure his feet start feeling better, while allowing him to continue to walk strong as well.
