Gunner only makes sounds a.) when he yawns and B.) when the toys come out. I keep the couch covered when pups are here because we do live in the woods and play outside. He gets the zooms so fast that these blankets don’t stand a chance.

This handsome guy left yesterday and I miss him already. He is THE strongest dog I’ve ever met. He is an AKC registered dog and came from some STRONG genetics. Thank goodness he’s such a good boy. It was so hot this week that he lived directly under any AC vent he could find. I cranked down the thermostat and pointed all the vents down! When you are a 10 year old good boy, that’s what you deserve on your vacation.

I just saw someone drive off after dropping a dog off on HWY 4 in Chatham. The dog ran all the way from the cemetery to Chatham intersection. I tried to catch her/him but it was so distraught it just kept running back and forth looking for their car. I’ll keep an eye out and leave food and water but if everyone could keep an eye out. I keep food, water, and bowls in my car for this reason. It ran itself to exhaustion and then went into someone’s back yard. I did not chase it or want to trespass. I’ve never seen so much confusion on a dogs face. If anyone does see it and can get it to the shelter, it’s better than it getting hit, dying from heat, or dying from the long starvation process. It’s so sad and disappointing.

I had a new friend reach out to me about a dog that she fostered for someone and the owner ghosted her. She now has a beautiful dog she’s trying to find a home for. Goodbye handsome boy. I hope Texas treats your family well! You will get a new sitter out there, but yall will never have as much fun as we did 😂. I will be watching from Facebook and look forward to seeing you in your new life! You are the biggest lap dog I’ve ever met and the sweetest soul . I’ll miss you!

“He has made everything beautiful in its time" Ecclesiastes 3:11…. In dog rescue and life in general, there is a lot of sadness and why’s that we cannot quite understand. Today, when I was looking at and enjoying time with this fluffy girl, I could not help but think about this verse. She went through so much for unknown reasons but it all led her to here. I remember being on a work trip in Utah when my pal asked if I could accept a foster, my first one. A free dog?!?! Sign me up!!!! The way that it worked out with me being the link to her new family, it was all in God’s timing. Fostering saves lives. If you feel led, I recommend reaching out to 4 paws to look into fostering! Or any rescue or shelter near you. You could be the link to their new family. I am so thankful 4paws saved her and that her new family opened their home to her…. Well, they sorta kept all of us 😂
