Our baby boy, Damien was born July 2nd. I am still waiting to be cleared to work, so I won't be able to start shearing until the middle of August. That is normally a little late to shear as it doesn't give them a lot of time to grow their wool back out in order to stay warm for the winter. If you would still like me to shear at that time I would be more than happy to, if not I look forward to working with you again next year. I apologize for not being able to shear before the heat set in.

It's the beginning of May and I'd usually be setting up appointments to shear. This year I will need to postpone. I am expecting baby Ihle #3 in the middle of June and it will be safer for me, the baby and the llamas to wait until after the baby is born to shear. I understand if you would like to make alternate plans.

I shear in the spring and
summer; first I groom and blow
out their wool, then shear (the
shorn wool is yours to keep if
you wish). Llamas need to be
shorn once of a year to keep cool
during the summer months,
they do not sweat.

After shearing I clip toenails if
needed. I do not use any
restraining device other than a
halter and lead. I only need a
catch pin, a gate or fencing to
tie the lead and access to power.

I can deworm your animals and
teach you how. Llamas need
dewormed once a month,
especially if you live in a
location near white tail deer.

I can help train your animals so
they are easier to handle.

I have 20 years of experience
working with llamas, starting in
4-H. My parents purchased
seven llamas for our family and
I continued to work with and
train llamas over the years. I
have worked as farm manager
at a llama farm with over 40
animals.
