It all began in 2003 when she needed an outlet for her creative energy and wanted to find that special martingale collar for her two retired racing Greyhounds. Eventually, she invested $500 in raw materials and decided to make her own. What started out as a one-woman show making collars in Alisha’s spare bedroom, has now grown into a team of over 50 talented professionals all working together in a 20,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Indian Trail, NC. Each of them brings something valuable to the table, but they all have one thing in common: pride in creating top-quality, beautiful pet products that can be found around the world.
2 Hounds Design works closely with adoption and rescue groups worldwide, and raised more than $500,000 in the first 10 years alone through fundraising, donations, and hosting auctions. The Freedom No-Pull harness is used by many shelters, SPCA organizations, humane societies and private rescues. It’s very rewarding knowing that that a product made by 2 Hounds has played even a small part in helping to rehabilitate a dog with little chances of being adopted, into a happy, well-rounded pup that finds himself a forever family.
