💙 Summer & Gus 💙

We recently took in Summer, a kitten with a nerve injury that was recommended for amputation. But we’ve seen this before (remember Bristle?)—and since there are no broken bones, we chose time, care, and PT first.

✨ Good news: Summer is already starting to use his leg and getting stronger every day! ✨
Also… surprise—Summer is a boy. And a very lonely one. 🥺

So we pulled a “friend” from a local shelter who was thought to need a rear leg amputation…

Enter Gus—who actually has two broken front legs. We truly cannot make this up. The shelter is overwhelmed, and now Gus needs us.

Our ortho team is stepping in, and we’re doing everything we can to save his legs and give him a normal life. The next couple of months will be tough, but he has a whole village behind him. 💪

Hi… I’m Clarice 💕

I had a big day today—car ride, lots of nice people, and so many cuddles. It was really lovely… but I have one thing on my mind.

I’m looking for my boy. 🥹💛
The tiny human kitten at the brewery in the fancy yellow Crocs—I picked him. He’s mine. He likes to pat my face. I like that too.

If you’re his family, I would really, really love to come home with him.

I’m Clarice, the calico girl who loves snuggles, big purrs, and kids (especially my boy). I’m almost ready for my forever family… I’m just hoping it’s him 💕

Let’s talk about Genevieve 💛

As you may have noticed, our girl is losing some of her fur. Genevieve has been on some pretty strong medications at high doses—and those meds are what got her here. We’re so grateful for that.

But… Miss G has made it very clear she’s planning to stick around for the long haul 🐾✨ So now it’s time to start thinking about a safer, long-term plan to keep her feeling her best.

Lately, we’ve seen increased peeing, more sleeping, and the hair loss—which has us worried her steroids could be causing some Cushing’s-like side effects. We have an appointment next week for a full assessment and labs to take a closer look at everything.

The hope 🤞 is that now that she’s about four times the size she was when she came to us, we might be able to very slowly reduce her steroid dose—without increasing pressure in her head and definitely without triggering seizures.

Please keep her in your thoughts as we figure out the next steps 💛

In the meantime, she’s been cozy in her favorite bed (link in comments—it’s basically magic 🛏️✨), and we’ve found a leave-in conditioner that’s helping keep her skin moisturized and healthy. We are starting to see a little regrowth!

And just to answer a common question—no, she’s not excessively licking. She actually can’t reach most of these spots. Grooming at all was a HUGE milestone for her 💕

The hoomans have lost their minds… they’re taking us to a brewery this Saturday. I am just a baby. Do they even have mock-Churu-tinis?? 🍹

BUT it’s for my friend Reptar. His little leggies are too tiny and we gotta help him get big, strong ones so he doesn’t hurt later. 💚

Come meet us, buy some cat crafts, and help Reptar get new leggies (I vote T. rex green 🦖).

AND don’t forget — the hoomans got a matching grant, so your help goes TWICE as far!
