Thank you for all the likes and warm words on the last post.

We actually had a bunch of people reach out about the 1 year old girls we have. Here are pics we just took today. Gelato or Gigi is the solid black. Pizzelle or Zelle is the black and white.

Both good looking, sweet girls. Gigi has a derp face in the one pic here. Just a bad picture.

Announcement: LAST LITTER from Big Cedar.

With a heavy heart...

After nearly a decade of breeding GSPs we have made the difficult decision that this will be our final litter.

We're dog people. This has been a labor of love for our family. Our extended family has been breeding labs for 40 years. We’ve poured our hearts into producing healthy, well-tempered dogs that become more than 4 legged companions, but cherished family members.

However, breeding at the standard we hold ourselves to has become increasingly difficult in today’s environment.

Between rising costs, more GSP breeders producing much cheaper lower quality dogs, and the physical demands on us giving our dogs the level of care they deserve.

We are incredibly grateful for every family who has become an extended part of ours over the years by bringing one of our pups into your home and for the trust you’ve placed in us.

We want to finish out by offering one more litter. Between Blue our stud dog and Winning Colors our patchless girl we tried to tie for the 1st time last year, but she skipped her heat.

All the other girls have finished their latest heat over the last couple of months, so we expect Winc any time now.

If you’ve been waiting for a pup from our program, now is the time. Feel free to message us with any questions.

help wanted! if anyone has a reliable gsp sitter they can recommend we have a local big cedar dog family who needs one as theirs backed out!!

We normally offer pup sitting services. However, we still have 3 beautiful girls from our last litter and literally have no space!

With the fruit trees, our own veggie garden, baby farm animals, Spring is the busiest time of the year for us. Here's Pizzelle investigating the apiary area as the new vertical bee hive gets put in... Hopefully, finished before the new bees arrive.

We dropped some trees to open the area up, planted 3 plums and plan to fill the area with fruiting shrubs and wildflowers for the bees.
