🥛Great news for the farm and farm stand! We should be offering sheep milk lotion and eventually soaps in the near future 😉 I know I've had a few people ask, so I've really been digging in and researching. I'm going to have to put my chemist hat on because it is way different than just milking but I'm up for the challenge. I may even be able to infuse it with herbs I have on the farm, so an all around farm product. Drop your favorite scents for lotions below so I can make note 👇

Here's the sign up genius for u-pick potatoes starting next Monday Morning. We're farmers so have morning and evening chores and try not to be out in the heat of the day. We also have some birthdays and such coming up. So let us know if you don't see a time that works for you and email me so we can work something out.

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you! Email me if a time works better for you that is not listed, I just put in basic times where it won't be too too hot; I can add it or make a private time slot. [email protected] * Since this is our first u...

Okay I've asked and y'all responded unanimously. We are doing u-pick potatoes!

We are located off 601s in Monroe. This will be appointment only just like the farm stand. Our garden is in our back pasture. We do have a swing set for the respectful kiddos.

These are Yukon gold potatoes known for their creamy, buttery texture, they hold their shape well, making them ideal for mashing, roasting, boiling, and soups. A very well rounded potato. We planted too much for just us and we could take it to the market but where's the fun in that? These potatoes were grown organically and were never sprayed with chemicals or fertilizers.

We will have tools ready and a washing station. We will have buckets to use on the farm and some bags or burlap. We strive to be a plastic free farm, so typically don't use plastic bags. We will have some ready picked bags as well for the farm stand if you just want to grab and go.

We will be posting a form or link for time slot sign ups. We will be on site to help with anything like parking, washing, and harvesting. We will weigh the potatoes for you and they will be 2.50 per pound. Anything you don't want to take or accidentally dig up we will put in a bucket. Nothing will go to waste. I planted these early so we can do u-pick right now and again in October if we plant again in July! How fun.

The potatoes are getting really close to being done but just started showing signs of slowing down, so we will open up appointments tentatively starting Monday June 22nd.

We look forward to engaging with our community and thanks for letting me (Caitlyn) and Andrew be your farmers!

Baby bird saga tonight! I found two babies on the barn floor. We were able to return them safely in their nest and mom came and fed them so happy ending. There was one up in the nest so two out of three fell out. Our conundrum was the wasp nest up there by the nest and returning the babies without being stung.

Trying to grow blueberries on the farm has been challenging to say the least. I've had no less than 5 bushes mowed to the ground from lack of attention or my poor marking them. I've tried growing them for maybe 6 years or so.
These bushes are now a few years old and going to start producing well. Birds harvested my early blooming variety this year (it's the best tasting one too 🥺). But even then this year has been our biggest harvest.
This is from tonight and there's still plenty more ripening.

We planted 4 more bushes doubling our grove, one is already dead. So next year I guess we'll add 8 more bushes and double it again.
Why spend hundreds at the grocery store for blueberries for our four kids when we can spend thousands on a blueberry grove?
I love blueberries! I typically only eat fruits in season and this is my favorite season, hurry up winter and come along spring for the blueberries in May and June!
I think I'll make blueberry oatmeal in the morning or blueberry pancakes.

Maybe next year I'll have enough for you too! Chemical free, organic, plain simple blueberries, harvested by little hands.

Drew has delivered 3.5 gallons of raw sheep milk today and 3 dozen eggs. And brought me an Angora Rabbit doe back home 🥰. What an awesomely productive day today. And it's not done as I have a NZ doe in labor. So much hard work goes into moments like these 💕. I also successfully made sheep milk today after my many attempts failing 🤷‍♀️ I don't quit. Don't quit. Thanks for letting us be your farmer!

Just some farm stuff. I can't believe this is what we've created sometimes. The past 6 years just all came together.
