Coach Julia joins us out of Massachusetts, and was referred to our team by Coach ! 🙌
She is a Board Certified Registered Dietician, which means she is going to bring a WHOLE LOT of amazingness to the team! Please check out her bio below to get to know her a bit! đŸ‘‡đŸŒ

“Hello!
My name is Julia DeLissio, and I am a Registered Dietitian who specializes in the prevention of chronic disease (pre-hypertension, pre-diabetes, etc.), weight management, intuitive eating, disordered eating, and body positivity. Doubling as a Certified Personal Trainer, I also work with athletes who want to manage their nutrition to optimize their performance.

I found my passion for nutrition through my own weight-loss journey and the challenges I faced. As a high school athlete, I was always concerned about my weight, falling into the stigmas and pressures of being a teenager. Unfortunately, this developed into unhealthy eating patterns and obsessive exercise. After realizing my condition and working hard to cultivate a healthy relationship with exercise and nutrition, I decided to become a dietitian to help those who may be suffering as I did.

I find fulfillment in working with clients who want to revamp their relationship with food, lose weight in meaningful ways, find a healthy balance between nutrition and body positivity, and the like. I believe we shouldn’t be controlled by our diet or live a life in which our eating patterns become obsessive or overly scarce. We should be able to enjoy food, wine, travel and the spoils of life. Overall, I love health and wellness on a spiritual level, and I am happy to help those who are ready to make slow, yet serious, changes.

On weekends, you can catch me outside with my wife and my dogs, likely paddleboarding, kayaking, playing pickleball, rock climbing or hiking. My Husky mix will be howling, and my Corgi will be barking up a storm. You may even find me recording music – playing the guitar, or piano and singing poorly! Can’t wait to work with you!”

This “radically different” approach is nothing more than a disguised MLM of highly inflammatory foods and calorie restriction.

Bottom line for me: if you have to eat the meals provided for life to get results, it’s not a sustainable plan (and also very expensive!) đŸ˜„

Introducing this week’s Client Spotlight: Casey!

Casey was referred to TeamBDN by a past client of ours. She initially came to the team wanting to lose 10lbs before her wedding day (7-8 weeks away), but also wanted to better prioritize her health & fitness overall to truly make it a lifestyle; one that wasn’t a fad she would just “give up on” after 2 weeks!

She wanted to stop the crash diets and the quick fixes and truly find something that STUCK. Well, we can definitely say Casey has found something that’s “stuck” with her program through TeamBDN & the results paid OFF!

Now only did Casey reach her weight loss goal in time for her wedding (which was 1/30- CONGRATS! 😍🎉), she did it without a crash diet. She is also down 3” in her waistline and almost 2” in her hips, and we aren’t even finished with her program yet!

In Casey’s words: “I just want to thank the BDN team so far! It’s the week of my wedding and I didn’t expect to see such a difference in my body by now. Intermittent Fasting
yay or nay?

Short answer?

For women: NAY.

Swipe through to see why we don’t recommend this diet for everyone, especially women.

Women are especially sensitive to stress and hormone fluctuations, so adding in an additonal stressor on top of already under-eating would be a BAD IDEA.

For men, you are less sensitive to stressors due to always having a baseline T level that barely fluctuates. IF may be a good idea for you if you’re over-eating or used to eating less nutrient-dense foods!

Meet our newest client spotlight: Ali!

Ali came to TeamBDN because she was tired of doing all the fad diets: keto, intermittent fasting, you name it!

She wanted to find something sustainable that would allow her to make progress while juggling her busy lifestyle between work, kids and her relationship with her boyfriend.

Previously, Ali was eating just around 1400 calories. She was tired of feeling burnt out or feeling guilty if she ate something that wasn’t “clean”.

She also wanted to learn how to meal prep more efficiently in order to stick to her goals!

We started Ali off on a reverse diet for 12 weeks. She stayed at her maintenance and now she’s entering into a cut đŸ™ŒđŸŒ

Today, Ali is still eating close to 2000+ cals, even in a cut and looking better than ever!
She is able to incorporate her favorite foods while still making progress & no longer feels consumed by food. đŸ„Č

We’re starting a fun new series where we breakdown the latest fad diets and show them for what they really are!

We hope that through proper education, individuals will make a more informed choice for their health and wellness needs!

The diet industry is a billion dollar industry banking on false promises and quick fixes. They want you to try as many as you can because certainly one HAS to work for you! If it hasn’t worked yet, it’s just not the right one!


and I agree with them.

Because these diets aren’t set up to work long term
 they will always be a short-term fix.

Meet Jenna! đŸ”„

When Jenna started Team BDN, her main goal was to lose 10 pounds and fit into her clothes better.

Right off the bat, we felt that Jenna would be a perfect candidate for a reverse diet, as she was averaging about 1,300 calories a day. For a busy, active nurse and mom of 2, this definitely wasn't enough to fuel her body through her grueling days!

For those who aren’t aware, a reverse diet can feel like a scary idea, but from day one, Jenna has trusted the process and hit her goals EVERY single week! She’s even been able to enjoy her holiday season and her favorite wine when she’s wanted to!

As of today, Jenna is eating almost 1,000 calories more and has lost 11 lbs! đŸ™ŒđŸŒđŸ™ŒđŸŒđŸ™ŒđŸŒ

She's had multiple occasions where her old clothing has no longer fit her (helloooo shopping spree!!) 🎉🎉

Jenna, we are soo proud of you for trusting us with your health and can't wait to see all that you accomplish in the future!

We're just getting started!

*this is after 2.5 months in the program. We plan on continuing to add more calories until she reaches her maintenance range, then stay here for a bit so her metabolism can readapt to that higher amount đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„

It’s time we reintroduce ourselves for the new year!

Who are we?! TEAMBDN!

What do we do?! Treat the whole picture!

Why?! Because that’s the golden ticket to health!

But seriously, western medicine focuses on symptoms and is divided into specialties. You go to a different doctor for your gut, your hormones, your heart
 and none of them really talk to one another đŸ„Ž

What we do instead, is we look at your symptoms and ask WHY they’re happening while looking at the entire picture, not just the organ they’re stemming from.

We get to the core reason and try to fix that instead of just masking the symptoms.

This approach could still involve medications and supplements, but lifestyle changes are our first method of action.

Sometimes weight loss or the inability to lose weight isn’t just due to calorie consumption and exercise- sometimes it’s more complex than that. We take a deeper look into your systems and go from there đŸ€—

Can’t wait for 2022 and to show ya’ll what we have planned ! 🎉🎉🎉
