Informational Post 🐶 Australian Cattle Dog!

1. Ears: Australian Cattle Dog ears are moderately sized, set wide on the skull, broad at the base and pricked when alert.

2. Eyes: They have dark brown eyes with an alert and intelligent expression.

3. Nose: Blue Heelers typically have black noses.

4. Height; (Male): 18-20 inches (Female): 17-19 inches

5. Coat Length: Blue Heelers typically have a double coat with a short, dense undercoat and a longer, rain-resistant outer coat.

6. Coat Color: Blue Heelers come in six colors, ranging from blue, blue mottled, blue speckled to red speckled. They also can have some tan around their face, neck, chest and hindquarters.

7. Tail: The Australian Cattle Dog has a tail set moderately low. They tend to have a good brush, and at rest, they hang with a slight curve.

8. Weight; (Male): 35-50 pounds (Female): 35-50 pounds

KayCee took our retired dam Rogue to the vet this morning. She had a femur break a while back. They said she has healed in a phenomenal way. She can come out of her crate now and resume her recovery outside of the crate. We can start walks now and he said to get her muscle mass back to let her go up the stairs at least 4 times a day 🐶 I’m happy to have my Rogue back and out of her crate!

Breeding is so much more than what the average person thinks or knows…The planning that goes into everything is just the tip of the iceberg.

If you do know more than the average person you will know that genetic testings, OFA’s and pairings take deep consideration. It is a lot of work. There’s a deeper meaning than just pairing two dogs. You have to look at the structure and the angulation of each dog to consider what flaws are lacking to determine what will be the best outcome for the offspring. The temperament of the dogs must be biddable and their minds must be solid. If you are not considerate of these things and carefully I would reconsider or adjust your program.

Each person that has an individual program should be willing to learn new things and adapt or add new knowledge to their programs…

When searching for homes we need to be aware of where our dogs are going and their quality of life. I personally believe that if I’m bringing dogs into this world to contribute to the preservation in my own way, it is my responsibility to place dogs to the right homes.

In doing so I’ve never had a rehome or had a dog end up to a shelter. Anyone is welcome to come to me for questions in regard to their new pups and I will guide them the best that I can 🐶. In saying all of this I implore people seeking new breeds to research what they need for stimulation and what their instincts are prior to buying a new dog that best suits their family.

Heelers are great companions and family dogs if you know how to navigate their instincts. You should be prepared for them and their uniqueness as they are special and sensitive creatures 🐶.

east here in Alberta I. The red likes to work. There's
videos of her on our Instagram pushing cows up some
alleys. The blue prefers to just hang out and doesn't
have the drive to push cows.

I've had a few people asking about my change in prices recently especially compared to the price of my past litters. This post describes it pretty well. I put a significant amount more time, care, planning, work and money into my litters now than I did when I first started. Raising a healthy litter is not cheap (especially now) or easy. I want my puppies to have the best start to life and their new furever families to have the best lifelong partner. I breed for healthy, strong, loving, driven puppies that can be your best friend.
