We got the cutest little raccoon in today! This little boy we believe has a form of dwarfism- which can be rare in raccoons. He was abandoned by his mother and ironically this was done in a rehabbers yard right in front of her. The mother and siblings turned away leaving him behind. They waited and waited for mama to return before intervening and after 24 hours he was brought in.
Due to other organizations policies and procedures he was at risk for euthanasia, they reached out to us to take him in to give him chance.
Judging by his teeth he is about 6-7 weeks old. His body size is not terribly smaller but in addition to his facial features he has very short legs and feet, as well as a little bob tail.
He’s a spicy little guy but we know he is scared and so uncertain of all of the changes the past few days. Overall he is a very healthy boy who definitely needs a name to fit his precious face and personality!!!
Anyone who suggests Rocket, Bandit or Rocky has to give a $10 donation! 🤣
He will likely be a permanent resident here, but will be seen and evaluated by our vet before officially making that call. We have many permanent residents here and the need for a finished building and needing to expedite plans for our facility to provide the best care possible and have volunteers to help with the hundreds of animals we take in each season.
Saturday we started a GoFundMe and hadn’t posted it yet but outlining some of operations currently and projections of where we are headed and what our monthly budget would look like as we grow the next few years.
Some of these funds will also be used for pre release and outdoor caging for some of our sanctuary animals. Enrichment is crucial for our permanent residents and want them to have natural vitamin D and fresh air just like we need as well!

Any other donations can be mailed to us, just message us for the address since we operate out of a private residence. With our growth we definitely need to get a PO Box, but also love the personal touch of receiving mail directly.
We depend on the public for all donations and other nonprofits that award community grants, we receive no state funding or government assistance for our program and outreach. Every donation means the world to us and is so appreciated, every dollar and share counts and gets us one step closer to our goal.
We may be doing the hands on work but we would never be able to do what we do without YALL!!
