The cold hard but sad truth...

Black cats are often the last to be adopted, spending far more time in shelters than any other cats. 🐈‍⬛💛

Despite their beauty and gentle nature, old superstitions and poor lighting in photos work against them. Many shelters say black cats can take two to three times longer to find a home simply because their dark coats don’t “stand out” in pictures.

Staff members insist these cats are some of the sweetest, most affectionate companions you could ask for. It’s a strange twist — the same cats once honored in ancient Egypt now wait the longest for love.

Maybe it’s time we remember: luck has nothing to do with it. Love sees beyond color. ✨🐾
