I know it has been quite a while since we have posted any updates on our kidding status. A lot has occurred in the last two weeks!

Ponto Ranch TRU Royal Splash x Ponto Ranch DRN Thorin: Splashy kidded with two bucks and one doe on St. Patrick's Day (Mallory's birthday!). All are doing well. We are retaining the doeling which we have named Mystic Shade. She has the heaviest black pattern for a Chamoisee that I have ever seen. Pictures to come soon.. she is stunning in both color and conformation!

3G Family Farm BAM Bellona x 3G Family Farm SD Durin: Belle also kidded on Mallory's birthday with two bucks and a doe. We are retaining the doeling which we have named Aurelia. She is beautiful and very sweet... and she crosses four times to 2021 ADGA National Show Premier Sire TX Twincreeks RM Watermark.

Ponto Ranch Pixie Dust x Agape's Prize Connect the Dot: Dusty kidded on 3/19 with three buck kids. We were sure hoping for some Dott girls here but oh well... we got some sharp, large boys out of it. Sadly we lost one not long after birth but there is one solid gold boy that is so light he looks white and a fancy gold and white buckling also.

Grasse Acres SH Peachy Keen x Agape's Prize Connect The Dott: Peachy kidded on 3/25 with two bucks and two does. One doe was presented with head folded back and one front leg folded under. It required intervention and she was sadly DOA upon delivery. But we finally got a Dott doeling as she had two. And she looks like she will be LOOONG like her daddy! We have named her Kiwi. She will of course be retained.

3G Family Farm SD Sprite x Agape's Prize Connect The Dott: Sprite kidded on 3/26 with FOUR bucks. Ugh... we were highly anticipating getting some Dott does out of this breeding but we can be thankful that all are healthy... and there is always next year! Two of the boys were breach with both hind legs folded under and she delivered them that way... and neither were small. It's nice having these wide-hipped girls!

So we have a break now until early May when we have half sisters 3G Family Farm T Valentina and 3G Family Farm T Sugar Cube up to bat.

We will try to get pictures and videos of all these babies this weekend for all to enjoy!

With all of these boys, we will have a lot of choices for anyone wanting beautiful pet wethers. A few of them we would consider offering registered as breeding bucks. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Triplet kids born late yesterday evening to 3G Family Farm BAM Bellona and 3G Family Farm SD Durin. Another two bucks and one doe litter for the night! All are doing well. So thankful for smooth kiddings last night.

Ponto Ranch TRU Royal Splash x Ponto Ranch DRN Thorin triplets born yesterday evening. Two bucklings and one doeling. All, including mama, are doing great.

Lots of busyness tonight. Royal Splash kidded with triplets… two bucks and a doe. Bellona decided to match her and did the same a couple hours later. Belle’s little girl seems a little weak but got two good doses of colostrum so far and a shot of Bo-Se to liven her up.

Pixie Dust is due tomorrow. I’m thinking triplets… possibly quads… for her.

3G Family Farm BAM Bellona is at Day 148 today. Time to release the hostages, girl!! She is bred to 3G Family Farm SD Durin. Four crosses to 2021 ADGA National Show Premier Sire TX Twincreeks RM Watermark in this breeding and Durin’s mama ((3G Family Farm SQ Diona) took 1st at last year’s ADGA National Show in 6 year Old Milkers. Probably a little bit of an understatement to say I am excited to see what this cross produces. She has a socked-on udder.

Thumbelina and Poppy Seed got some fresh air and sunshine today. It’s so good to see Thumby feeling better. Her appetite and energy seem to be returning to normal.

2025 kidding kicked off for us with a rough start. Going into our fourth kidding season and we have never needed to provide much assistance. We knew the law of averages would catch up eventually.

Thumbelina kidded on Day 141 this past Saturday morning. I had been up with her all night and came inside for about 30 minutes when she still seemed a ways out. Went back out to find two on the ground. She had cleaned one completely off but it was not breathjng. She was cleaning the second off. Tried cpr, suction on the one in hopes to revive it but no luck. I believe she may have laid on it when kidding the second. Both girls .

She was huge so I was shocked she didn’t have any more but she stopped contracting and was up and attending to her lone survivor. I made a trip in the afternoon down southwest of St. Louis to deliver some goats and bring one back. On the return trip Mallory called to say Thumbelina was shaking and having contractions. Yep, one stuck in the birth canal I did not detect. A friend’s attempts to retrieve it were unsuccessful. Mallory and Eric ran her up to Brodhead Vet at 10:00 PM and they were able to retrieve TWO stuck bucklings… thankfully without the need for C-section.

Thumbelina is struggling a little… went into Ketosis and although not back to 100% we are hopeful she rebounds. Her little doeling is doing well and we are thankful for that. Introducing Ponto Ranch DRN Poppy Seed.

Awesome news from 3G Family Farm on the dam of our buck 3G Family Farm SD Durin. 3G Family Farm SQ Diona will now be (pending) a permanent champion after taking Grand at last weekend's The Pride of Piedmont show. Diona was shown in just Rings 1 and 2, taking Reserve Grand Champion in one and Grand Champion and Best Udder of Breed in the other. Congratulations to 3G and this gorgeous doe. We could not be more happy to have one of her boys here in our herd. There are many of his daughter's retained in our herd this year and we can only hope they mature to fairly resemble their granddam!

I traveled out to CT last weekend to pick up one special little buckling from Meadowview Farm and instead came back with TWO! We are thrilled to have these bucks in our herd to continue building it up. Thank you so much Bryan and Nikki Rivard Meadowview Farm for these wonderful boys. They are both gorgeous and I have no doubt they will boost our breeding program immensely. And thank you so much for the hospitality while there!

Introducing... again... Meadowview Cowboy Like Me and Meadowview Mr. Perfectly Fine. Almost impossible to get good pics of the two of them together so here is a short video. We will post some better pics later. Cowboy is the cream boy and Fine is the red/white buck.

These bucks have some very exciting pedigrees with very high performers at the national level including National Champions.

🤠 Meadowview Cowboy Like Me 🤠

We are so excited to be sending this guy west to Ponto Ranch - Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. We met Tim years ago at a Nigerian only show in Du Quoin, IL and his passion for goats and improving the breed rivaled ours.

Unfortunately last years buck reservation fell through and was rolled over to this year. We are beyond excited that we were able to breed this cross and give Tim some of our favorite genetics here at the farm that will compliment and cross well with a lot of the does he currently has in his herd.

Fun fact in our conversations that weekend in Du Quoin, we found out Tim had a reservation with 3G Family Farm for our doe Darlin Diva but he got impatient and purchased another doe before Diona kidded (Thanks Tim!) so we knew his eye was similar to ours.

🐐 This guys littermate brother Meadowview American Boy will be looking for a herd of his own as we retained a buckling out of Katana last year. 🐐
