Lost Fantasy Rescue is based out of foster homes throughout SW Virginia. We have do not have a physical shelter/facility, so all meet & greets must be scheduled in advance. We pull from local open intake shelters as well as accepting owner surrendered animals. We work with the community to offer help with spay/neuter assistance as well as food & vetting to keep pets in their home thus preventing t

hem from entering the shelter system. We work with out of state shelters to send dogs/cats from this area to other areas with a higher adoption rate. All puppies & kittens are held by us for a minimum for 3 weeks to be brought UTD on shots & spayed/neutered PRIOR to adoption to the public. PLEASE NOTE: In order to be considered in the as a potential adopter for a animal, we ask that you visit our website (www.lostfantasystables.org), click on the FORMS/APPLICATIONS tab in the menu on the left-hand side of the page, and fill out an adoption application. Our adoption process includes said application, reference checks, vet checks, an informal home visit, a meet and greet, as well as an adoption contract and fee/donation. Welcome Trixie to the rescue. Trixie is a sweet 13 year old girl who found herself at the shelter. She is now with one of our fosters and settling in nicely. We will know more about her soon. Happy tails to Oreo! He has found forever with Rusty's family. After losing Rusty, his family felt the best way to honor him was to give a home to a dog in need. Oreo came to us very shut down from his experience in the shelter. But with patience he opened up! Happy tails to Oreo!

We have an update on one of our long term fosters.

Murphy came from one of our partner shelters. He was found as a stray. He was very thin and weak. Initially we thought he might be a hospice foster as he was very frail. With food and love he did improve enough to make the trip to Virginia where he has been getting a thorough vetting work up and monthly visits for chronic ear infections. He has gained a little more weight but remains frail. Recently our vet felt that he was strong enough for us to do more of a work up with blood work and his kidney function is not the greatest, and he has an elevated calcium level.

We aren't sure what the future holds for Murphy. We are concerned that he may have bigger issues that we haven't diagnosed yet. He remains in a foster home where he has comfortable beds, siblings who like to cuddle with him and all the yummy food he wants. We will keep you updated on Murphy and his status.

Murphy isn't an easy dog. Dogs like Murphy do not make the rescue money. But Murphy deserves a shot at a good life. Our deepest condolences to Rusty's family. Rusty came to us from our partner shelter. He was found to have a heart condition and seizures. With medication, these conditions were controlled and he was adopted to a wonderful family. Sadly his seizures worsened. His family will miss him greatly.

Sometimes home is right where you are! Congratulations to Lucy who found a home with her foster. Lucy is a sweet girl who had been used as a breeding machine and is now living the life as a loved family member! Happy tails Lucy!

It's a Winston Throwback day! Winston came to us as a young guy. He was adopted to a family that fell on hard times and had also adopted Fiona and Fergus. Winston has grown over the years but he remains the same smart sweet piglet inside. We think Winston Fiona and Fergus are the best! We're going to be at this years Wytheville Women's Holiday Craft and Vendor event! The event is November 22nd and it runs from 9am to 3pm. They will be collecting food donations for the Agape Food Pantry and the craft fair will take place at the Wytheville Meeting Center.
