My heart is heavy. Chili came into our lives with a strong purpose - to process and learn how to live with the grief of losing a parent. He fulfilled that and went on to be the inspiration for our dream of breeding and raising Dobermans. As our first Doberman (and only one for a few years), he traveled with us more than any of the ones who came after…all around Missouri with us while our youngest daughter played club volleyball, to the beaches of St. George Island, and to Tablerock Lake where he learned to swim - first with a life jacket and eventually without it. He loved the water and moving out to the country was heaven for him. His first order of business in the mornings was gliding around the perimeter of our small lake. He loved ice cubes and marshmallows as a treat and sucking on his blanket. In his later years, his favorite spot became hanging out with me in my home office. He was elegant, patient, and majestic. I’m comforted that Chili lives on through one of his progeny (with our son). So thankful for the love, devotion, and all the memories, but our boy is going to be sorely missed. RIP Chili Bean - see you on the other side, buddy.💔
