Mike and I foster for this rescue group. We have helped to place five of their dogs just in our neighborhood. Our current foster is Jill E Bean, a beautiful great pyranees mix. If you are able to donate to this rescue group, it would help so much. Please read below. Titan was a stray for three years in south Dallas. He needed help and Blue Bonnet stepped up. Titan was an owner surrender who was attacked by a larger dog and hit by a car. Again Blue Bonnet stepped up. This group has 70 plus dogs for adoption and need care until their new owner finds them. Every little bit helps to keep this group going.

The calendar says Wednesday, but our fundraiser is still open! We’re less than halfway toward our goal, which we set before we knew that we would be spending $2,385 to have little Benjamin Button’s broken jaw repaired. It was also before we knew that gentle giant Titan would need TECA surgery to deal with his chronic ear infection. We’re still waiting to get that number — the Thanksgiving holiday slowed down communication with the specialist. But our primary vet estimates the Total Ear Canal Ablation surgery to cost around $5,000. When you add in the cost of Benjamin Button’s other vet care — X-rays, bloodwork, vaccinations, and neuter — we’ve already spent more on him than the total amount of our Giving Tuesday goal. And even though generous donors covered Titan’s emergency care, we’ve already spent $416 on vet care and prescriptions for him, and we’ll spend a few thousand more for the TECA surgery. So we need to not just REACH our goal, but blow past it. A girl can dream, right?
