Last week Kevin from our office had the opportunity to donate 6 Pet Oxygen Mask Kits to the Waterloo Fire Department. Each station will have a CO2 kit to use in case a pet has been overcame with smoke inhalation. Dr. Tom Taylor of Den Herder Pet Hospital also talked to the firefighters about proper use of the CO2 masks. Since 2006, Invisible Fence Brand has donated over 12,400 mask kits to Fire Departments and over 200 pets have been saved with these masks.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure to join the Invisible Fence Company and meet some of Waterloo's bravest from the Waterloo Fire Department downtown. We discussed pet emergencies during a fire. We had some Q and A and addressed options on how to appropriately care for pets injured in a fire. At this time, Invisible Fence Company also provided each apparatus/truck with pet appropriate oxygen masks to be carried at all times in case of pet related emergencies at a fire scene. For those of you on a volunteer fire department in outlying communities like Hudson, Jesup, Gilbertville, Independence, Rowley, D**e, etc.... please reach out to Kevin at Invisible Fence of Cedar Rapids and he would love to opportunity to provide the same masks to your department at no cost. It was a great feeling to be part of a larger group of people that all have our pet members of our family at heart.
