Public hearing April 7 in Highfill on connector road between Interstate 49 in Bella Vista and U.S. 412

HIWASSE -- The Arkansas Department of Transportation is holding two public involvement meetings to get input on plans for a western connector between Interstate 49 in Bella Vista and U.S. 412 west of Arkansas 112 in Benton County.

Today, the U.S. Drought Monitor updated, altering the drought stages NWA is under. Despite the storms that rolled through last Thursday (Jan. 8th), parts of Boone and Newton Counties were upgraded to a Severe Drought (D2). Both NWA and RV continue to stay under the Moderate Drought (D1). We expect to stay relatively dry over the next seven days, which could possibly worsen drought conditions, similar to what is occurring over North-Central Arkansas, where a D3 stage is now in effect.
