One of the most important parts of raising guardian and working breeds is teaching them discernment. Not every animal, movement, or sound is a threat — and with proper socialization, exposure, and training, dogs can learn to confidently ignore the things that pose no concern to their home, family, or livestock.

Watching our dogs calmly observe a herd of elk moving through the open space behind our property without reacting is something I’m incredibly proud of. Clear-headed, environmentally stable dogs don’t happen by accident. They are built through genetics, structure, guidance, and thoughtful real-world experiences over time.

A steady dog that can think through situations instead of reacting emotionally is invaluable.

What a day for Cadence Farm Cane Corsos. 🖤

Diesel (Lyord Basey Diesel CFS) stepped into the ring for his very first show weekend and came home as Winner’s Dog today—earning his first AKC point. We couldn’t be more proud of how he carried himself and represented us.

A sincere thank you to Judge Ms. Kimberly Anne Meredith for recognizing our boy, and to the incredible community of friends and supporters who cheered us on throughout the weekend. Your encouragement means more than you know.

This is just the beginning—and we’re so excited for what’s ahead. 🐾

Feeling especially fortunate this St. Patrick’s Day.

Three exceptional dogs, a shared purpose, and a commitment to raising and working with the Cane Corso in a positive way. It’s a lifestyle built on dedication, partnership, and a deep respect for the breed.

So proud of these two today. Fi (8 months) and Diesel (5 years) spent the day with us at for the Pro Handler Intensive, where we focused on learning, refining skills, and continuing our journey in the show ring.

They were wonderful representatives of the breed—well behaved, attentive, and hardworking for nearly six hours while their humans worked on becoming better handlers. They also made plenty of new friends along the way. Days like this remind me how rewarding it is to work with dogs who truly enjoy learning and partnering with their people.
