Hi all it’s me your gal Pickle:
Mom and Seahag have been talking. Due to low adoptions, and transportation of MMAR animals they are forced to go on intake hold.
MMAR has animals that arrived at 6 weeks old and now are 2-3 years old. Perfectly healthy animals that have not received homes yet.
We understand the public’s frustration when we message back saying we cannot help due to no kennel space. Could we make our kennels smaller to add room? Sure we could, but what kind of life would that be for a dog to live in a tiny kennel not being able to have a house, play space, and p**p area?
We are hoping more will join in on our spay/neuter clinic fundraiser. We have several needing to attend, but can only take as many as our funds allow.
It’s hard to watch so many grow up at rescue when they only want homes, but they will continue to be safe at MMAR and properly cared for daily. The sad part is so many others are living on the streets, breeding, and suffering due to lack of food, but our hands are tied.
We hope you all understand the position we are in, and understand why we are having to make decisions we are making.
A few weeks ago we agreed to take 10 puppies from Fordyce when they are weaned, but are clueless where we will house them. We have a couple of weeks to figure it all out. What we do know is we can not leave them on the streets to breed one another when old enough if they even survive that long. This will be our last intake until we can find homes for residents we are caring for now
