Maya is super excited to tell everyone our good news! Lisa and her team Pet Supplies Plus - Lawrence store has chosen us for customer donations. The store will be allowing their customers to “round up” on their purchases to raise funds for us! We will get the donation $ in gift cards to be used in the store. We are so honored and blessed to have had a long lasting relationship with PSP. They have been so good to us with food, monetary and supply donations. Meet our newest addition to our family, Tessie! She is 10.5 years old, UTD on vaccines and spayed. Tessie’s previous owner is 83 years old. She fell, broke some ribs, and can no longer care for Tessie. Her 15 year old granddaughter reached out to us to secure placement for Tessie. Tessie has come right in and made herself comfortable. She gets along great with our other dogs and is fascinated by our cats. She is a gentle giant! Tessie is a sweetheart! ❤️ ❤️

There was a Serenity siting in Michigan!! Our team member, Jeff (right) and his brother and mother, were on vacation. Jeff uses his time and talents to volunteer and provide animal care at our main foster home. He also adopted our beloved Bea. Jeff’s mother and brother support our animals through monetary donations to help with veterinary care. We can’t say thank you enough!!! ❤️

To say we’ve been busy this summer, is an understatement. Meet our new boy, Rudy! We picked him up on July 4th. We took him to VCA Companion to see Dr. Zaniker on Thursday. Rudy is estimated to be around 11 years old and neutered. He’s now up to date on vaccines and we did a senior blood work panel on him that looks great! Rudy came to us because his senior papa had to move from his home into a small apartment in a senior community. He’s only allowed one pet. He was absolutely heartbroken to have to pick between his senior dog and cat. He picked his dog because he’s older and he felt that since Rudy is younger, he may have a better chance at finding a forever home. What a horrible choice for anyone to have to make!!!! We would love to see the rules for senior housing changed!!!! Rudy is doing well. Stephanie took him to her house to foster since we’re full at our main foster home. Rudy is already fitting in with her 2 cats and he’s having fun getting his foster dog brother, Winston, to chase him. 😂 Welcome Rudy! We promise to take good care of you and give your previous papa updates!!!! ❤️

We have great news! Nick has gone to his forever home! He has been through a lot the last few years. Nick and his mate, Nora, were surrendered to the Wabash County Animal Shelter twice, due to 2 different owners passing away. Then he lost Nora to MRSA that wouldn’t heal, because she had some form of cancer. Through all the trials and tribulations, Nick has remained a sweet, old man, teddy bear. Miss Lisa contacted us wanting to meet our dogs because it was on her heart to adopt a senior. Nick won her over instantly!!!👏👏👏Nick has a new girlfriend, Penny (Cavalier King Charles/Cocker mix).They are the only 2 in the household. He’s getting absolutely spoiled. He deserves it!!! We miss him, but we couldn’t be happier for him!!!! ❤️🐾 💜

One word comes to mind to describe Nellie. It’s resilience! Nellie was rescued by our friends at Wabash County Animal Shelter along with 28 other dogs from a horrible outdoor hoarding situation. She is a cancer survivor and she had her last 2 (hopefully) heartworm injections this week. Nellie is so sweet and loving and strong! She has no idea she’s sick. We are hoping and praying she will be heartworm negative when she’s tested in a month. The incredible team at VCA Companion has taken excellent care of her. Nellie is a champ!!!! ❤️🙏🐶 🎗

Our sweet, sweet Lucy was having a rough time, mourning the loss of her best friend, Buddy. Our team member, Emmy Moffett, took her to her house to give her some extra attention. As you can see, Emmy is spoiling her rotten!!! Lucy has been making friends with 2 new kitties. We are so thankful for our wonderful team and for Emmy for fostering Lucy. It was heartbreaking seeing Lucy so sad. And it makes us so happy to see Lucy happy again!!!! Love you gurl! ❤️🐱💛🐈❤️🐱💛🐈❤️
