🐾 Canelo's Discovering the Good Life! ❤️

Canelo is still the ultimate Velcro dog! If you're moving, he's following. If you're sitting, he's hoping there's room for one more!

Last night he was invited up on the couch and discovered just how wonderful movie night snuggles can be. He's also discovered belly rubs, and let's just say he's a fan. Close those eyes and soak up all that love! 😂

But don't let this snuggle bug fool you! He's got plenty of puppy energy. He loves running circles around the yard, playing with his favorite purple ball, and keeping everyone entertained.

A few updates on our sweet boy:
🐾 Good with other dogs
🐾 Getting better on leash
🐾 Eager to please
🐾 Still learning that cats are okay.

Canelo is discovering that people are pretty wonderful and that life comes with lots of love, attention, treats, belly rubs, and comfortable couches.

He's got the cuddles AND the zoomies covered! Now he just needs a forever family to share both with. ❤️

🐾 Meet Bubba! 💙

Sometimes you just need to stop, take in the view, and enjoy a little love.

Bubba is a handsome 3-year-old Chessie who enjoys getting out for walks, taking in the world around him, and, of course, stopping for some well-deserved pets and attention!

He's a social guy who loves people and other dogs, and he's ready to find his own family to share life's adventures with.

🐂 Well, somebody's been hanging around the rodeo! 😂

Rowdy is taking Halloween by the horns down in Texas! This bull is all dressed up and ready to cause a little trouble. 🤠

We're not sure if he's saying trick or treat or challenging someone to a showdown!

💙 Meet Canelo! One of Our 5 Southwest Chessies Looking for Love! 💙

Remember Canelo, the boy we shared from a high-kill shelter? Look at him now! ❤️🐾

Canelo is settling into foster life and learning the rules of the house. His new foster siblings are showing him the ropes, including how to walk with the pack!

❤️ A total Velcro boy who loves being close to his people
🐕 Good with other dogs
🐱 Working on cat introductions
🎓 Learning his house manners and commands
🧹 Added bonus: Canelo helps sweep the floor! 😂

What happens when Bubba meets someone new who isn't familiar with Chessies? He gives him a big hug, of course! 🐾❤️

Bubba has a way of making friends and showing just how loving a Chessie can be. This boy enjoys being out and about, meeting people, and living that active California social life!

❤️ Affectionate, social, and ready to be someone's best buddy

🦆 Tessa’s First Big Goose!

One of our Southwest alumni, Tessa, recently headed to Moses Lake for a hunting trip with her dad, and she had a big first!

Tessa is used to pheasants, but this time she learned to pick up and retrieve a big ol’ goose! What a proud moment for this girl. ❤️

She’s still getting comfortable with gunshots, but with a slow, patient approach, she’s doing really well and building confidence along the way.

We love seeing our alumni out enjoying life, learning new things, and making memories with their families!

Thanks for sharing Tessa’s adventure with us. 🐾

💦🐾 Frankie loves swimming and playing in the pond, but you know what she loves even more? Her people, especially kids! ❤️ Her whole personality lights up around children, and it’s easy to see how much they mean to her.

Frankie is currently in Arizona and looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home. If you’re not nearby, volunteer transport help may be available to help get her to you!

A few things to know about Frankie:

- Great traveler
- Good with cats
- Can do well with a same-size male dog with proper introductions
- Loves swimming, but loves her kids and her person even more!
