Greendog Foundation GreenDog Foundation is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and every day. It is the humane thing to do.

We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their homes in recent years, and as a result have had to give up their pets. Shelter animals are at an all-time high as is euthanasia. I have witnessed pets arriving at the shelter with their name on a jeweled collar, and with special bedd

ings and toys, only to be put down a few days later. Many of us have had to put down an elderly or sick pet. But to a healthy dog or cat, euthanasia is anything but humane.

OMG! Meet Chanel 💕💕💕

Meet delightful Chanel 💕
This gorgeous little Frenchie is about a year old and 17 perfect pounds of pure charm! Chanel bonds quickly with her people and, with a gentle introduction, becomes the sweetest loyal companion.

She’s doing great with potty training, walks nicely on leash, and settles well in a crate. Chanel is being fostered with children and other dogs and has done beautifully.

Chanel is fully vetted — vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, f***l tested negative, and scheduled to be spayed.

This sweet little mama was running out of time and desperately needed an exit plan ASAP. 💔

Thankfully, Green Dog Foundation stepped in and rescued this precious girl just in time. No pregnant mama or vulnerable puppy is truly safe in our severely overcrowded Southern California shelters anymore.

Welcome to safety, little Ginger. 🐾
Now she gets to bring her babies into the world in a warm, loving foster home instead of on a cold shelter floor. 🙌

Meet our newest little sweetheart, Pugsley! 🐾

This adorable boy is about 1½ years old, weighs 19 pounds, and is fully vetted, neutered, and ready for a foster or forever home!

Pugsley is friendly, loving, and has an easygoing personality that makes him a wonderful family companion. He walks nicely on a leash, is doing great with potty training, and loves being around people.

Meet adorable little Truffle! 🖤

This darling girl is about 6 months old and only 8½ pounds of pure sweetness. Truffle was rescued from a heartbreaking situation where she spent much of her life confined inside a cabinet, but despite her rough start, she is incredibly loving, playful, and full of joy.

Since coming into rescue, Truffle has received excellent veterinary care. She had a full medical workup after arriving with significant tummy issues, and all diagnostics came back negative. Her GI problems have now resolved, and she’s thriving! She’s happy, energetic, affectionate, and absolutely loves people and other dogs. In fact, we think she would do wonderfully in a home with another playful pup to keep her company.

Truffle has the cutest little face and soulful eyes, and while she looks like a mix of Cocker Spaniel and long-haired Dachshund, her true breed mix is anyone’s guess — all we know is she’s completely adorable.

She has already received her first vaccines and is microchipped. Truffle will receive her remaining booster vaccines, and once she is old enough, her spay will also be included in her adoption donation.

This precious girl deserves a safe, loving home where she can finally be spoiled and cherished the way she always should have been.

Nothing makes me happier than adopting out a senior to a senior...I don't know why but we have had an enormous amount of 80+ seniors apply for puppies recently. Please know that we are not ageists, but for someone who adopts a puppy that will live 15-20 years and the adopter is 80+ years old, this is only setting up the dog for failure. Unless there is a concrete plan in place for the dog, the dog will likely end up in our shelters' system and most of us know that seniors rarely make it out. Plus a puppy is like having a newborn! Why on earth would you want a newborn in your last trimester? If you know a senior who is lonely and needs a companion, let us know! Senior pets are wonderful companions. They already know all the rules and don't chew up your home! Congratulations to Doris and Lyli...these two were made for each other ❤️
