💧🐾 Keep Your Pets Hydrated & Happy! 🐾💧

Hot days = thirsty pets! Just like us, our furry friends need plenty of water to stay healthy, especially in the summer heat. ☀️ Here's how to help them stay cool and hydrated:

🐶 Fresh Water Always – Make sure bowls are clean and refilled throughout the day.
🐱 Multiple Water Stations – Place bowls in several areas of your home or yard.
🧊 Add Ice Cubes – Toss a few in their bowl for a cool treat or freeze low-sodium broth for a pup-sicle!
💦 Try a Pet Fountain – Flowing water can encourage picky drinkers, especially cats.
🍉 Offer Hydrating Treats – Water-rich snacks like watermelon (no seeds!)
🚫 Avoid Midday Heat – Walks and playtime should happen early morning or evening to avoid overheating.

Signs of dehydration can include dry gums, lethargy, and sunken eyes—if you notice these, contact your vet ASAP.

🐶 Today is Dog on a Lead Day! 🐾
A reminder that if a dog is on a leash, it’s for a reason — and we should respect that.

🚫 Don’t assume you can pet.
✅ Always ask the owner first — and respect the answer, even if it’s no.

🐕‍🦺 Some dogs may be:
• Nervous or in training
• Recovering from surgery
• Working through reactivity
• Not comfortable with strangers

👣 Give leashed dogs space. Let them pass without crowding or letting your own dog rush up to them — even if your dog is friendly!

It’s heating up—so let’s talk hydration!

Just like us, dogs and cats need plenty of fresh water to stay cool, healthy, and happy—especially during summer!

✅ Signs of dehydration in pets:

Dry nose or gums

Panting (beyond normal)
Loss of skin elasticity

💡 Tips to keep your pets hydrated:

Keep multiple bowls of clean water indoors and out
Use pet fountains to encourage drinking

Never leave pets outside too long in hot temps
