Miss Poppy, our Fox Red English Lab, has had a very busy day today. She is a proud new momma to 3 girls and 1 boy. They are gorgeous and she is doing so good with them. I am always amazed by how well they do delivering their babies and the immediate love and concern they have over them.

Cool facts:
*Did you know that puppies require their mother to lick them and thus stimulate them to potty? If the mother did not do this the puppies could rupture their bladder or bowel. (Just interesting fact that a lot of people don’t know.). That is why when you pick up a puppy if you touch belly to close to back side they will potty on you!
* puppies do not regulate their own body temperature for first 3-4 weeks of life. Mom senses their temp and if they get cool she will push them in under her neck to keep them warm! They need the room temperature to be around 80 -85 degrees. This is also why puppies lay in a pile, to keep warm!

Brian called and explained that he was looking for a new black lab to join his family as they had recently lost theirs. Aside from losing his last puppy, his family had also recently lost his mom and dad.

No one ever replaces a parent, but I know from personal experience when I lost my mom, God sent me a Husky! Someone had dumped her! She was pregnant at the time. That husky I named Tish after my moms old husky. She sat and listen to me cry and talk on my front porch many days. I never knew at the time that I needed a dog. But God did and he sent Tish. Tish lives a long wonderful life with me for another 15 and 1/2 years. She was my only constant in my life for a lot of years.

Well back to brian he was looking for a black female lab, but all we had was one polar white male. The puppy was absolutely the opposite of what he was looking for. But Brian was happy to FaceTime and get to see the little guy and once he did, he fell in love. Again this is God sending Brian and his family just what they needed.
