Some of you know I’ve been really struggling to hold on to my whites lately. Well I finally figured out why.
It wasn’t because I don’t love the color, because who doesn’t love a beautiful cloud floof?! But it was because I truly LOVE my boys. I feel each of my breeder boys in my other color pens are genuine unicorns 🦄
Hank the tank (mottled) is the most perfect wide boy, he cuddles and takes naps with me. Maverick Jr (black) is the perfect heart and he walks up to my children to be held, he wants cuddles and enjoys hair brushing. Maximus Decimus Meridius (Lavender) is probably one of the most type lavender boys I’ve seen and despite him being a bit of an ass, he is great with the girls and is making pure magic. Now comes Ice Man, he is beautiful, and I do believe very high quality in his own right. But I wouldn’t consider him a unicorn, I don’t see perfection (which I know is not real, but I guess what I’m looking for is something that looks perfect to me) I look at my girls in the white pen and they look near perfect. I want to re-create them, but I want a boy that I feel the same way about in that pen.
So instead of letting go of the color variety altogether I decided to go a different direction. I added MORE BOYS. I currently have four white cockerels in my boy pen I’m growing out, unfortunately three out of the four are siblings to most of my girls. So in steps Hidden Pines Silkies, Sarah sent me two absolutely beautiful boys. I don’t mind giving the boys all the time to mature. I’ve let go of birds too soon and regretted it and we know those boys take a minute, especially the special ones 😅
So, I’m very please to introduce Winston and William my potential future white breeders. I see so much in these boys and can’t wait to see them 4-6 months from now 👏
Can you tell which boy is Winston and which is William? I swear they look just like their names 🤍🤍🤍
