Great ways to honor St. Rocco and Guinefort include:

- Praying for those who are sick and suffering
- Donate to a local charitable organization that cares for the sick or the poor - as well as your local animal shelter or rescue organization.
- Prepare your favorite Italian dish... and a special treat for your Best Furry Friend! May we recommend grabbing some Saint Rocco's Treats? (Zach and Elizabeth give them four paws up!)

Over the past few days, our phone line has been "held hostage" by Google listing scammers. It has reached the point of several calls per hour from "spoofed numbers" that appear as local numbers. Unfortunately, blocking the numbers and being on the Do Not Call List have not helped matters. We no longer feel safe answering any numbers that we do not recognize and kindly ask that if you need to reach us - please send us a text just to let us know you're a friendly human and we'll call you back!

We profusely apologize for the inconvenience and are very upset that we have needed to make this decision. We're still very much here for you and our care for our Best Furry, Feathered and Finned Friends is not impacted in any way! Hopefully... "this too shall pass!"

PS - Kevin is innocent in this mayhem and merriment... this time!

The Brandywine Valley SPCA has waived adoption fees through 08/16... please share with your family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, pastor, etc

Did you know… just about anyone can wake up one day and advertise as a dog trainer (or pet sitter) without any formal training or experience? They can also be trained using very dangerous and outdated methods. For this reason, it is imperative to do your homework when choosing a trainer. We recommend not only looking for the Fear Free certification, but also the commitment to Force Free methods. If your Best Furry Friend is experiencing behavioral concerns - fear, aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, etc, please seek a consultation with a behavioral vet BEFORE you consult with a trainer to rule out any underlying medical issues that could be causing pain or contributing to the behavior. They can suggest modifications at home along with medication when appropriate and a trainer referral if needed. Friendly PSA: Please protect yourself when out with your Best Furry Friends, especially if you are prone to mosquito bites!

🚨 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: West Nile Virus (WNV) Detected in 6 Municipalities; Mosquito Spray Scheduled Monday, Aug. 10

New WNV positive mosquito samples were collected in Camp Hill Borough, Carlisle Borough, Dickinson Township, Borough of Lemoyne, Monroe Township, and Upper Allen Township.

To help reduce mosquito populations and limit the spread of WNV, mosquito spraying is scheduled for:
🗓️ Monday, August 10
🕗 Dusk – 11 p.m.
📍 Parts of Camp Hill Borough, East Pennsboro Township, Hampden Township, and Shiremanstown Borough

We use a product that targets flying adult mosquitoes and is applied at night to help protect bees and butterflies. The product breaks down quickly after application.

Additional mosquito spraying is anticipated in other areas next week. Spray routes will be announced once they are finalized.

You can help by:
✅ Eliminating standing water on your property (buckets, tires, tarps, clogged gutters)
✅ Using mosquito dunks where water can't be drained
✅ Wearing repellent and long sleeves
✅ Limiting outside time at dusk
✅ Checking window and door screens
