It was a hot Tuesday training day, but we had cool people, cooler dogs (& puppies!!!), and even cooler water in the “dog pool”!

Had to switch fields today after Keith Buesing and Suzy quartered around a fawn. Great job by Keith of seeing it before he stepped on it!

Tuesday Training Day didn’t disappoint! The weather stayed cool, breezy and a bit hazy. The dogs and people “worked” and enjoyed the day.

Today at noon let out the dogs learned about Snapping Turtles! This little one was just small enough to get through the chain link fence into the exercise yard. He's upside down after being flipped in the air after nipping a nose. I rescued him and dropped him in the creek, asking him to disperse elsewhere next time he felt the need!

Well, we had one heck of an adventure last weekend! Mama Lin and I went on our first road trip together, a field trial in Canada put on by the Central Ontario Spaniel Club. We left home and took the high speed ferry across windy Lake Michigan to make us all nauseous, and then had an easy border crossing and arrived at our hotel in time for me to break my phone. That was bottom, and the trip rocked after that! With a Canadian burner phone and Mama Lin's skilled navigation we made it to the grounds. The event was amazing with a club full of awesome, friendly, inviting people. Our dogs were in their zones for the weekend, I was very pleased by them. On Saturday Lola got 4th and Guns for her National ticket. Twig got 3rd for her National ticket. Monte got 2nd giving him enough points to complete his Canadian Field Championship. On Sunday Monte got 3rd, Lili got 2nd and Guns for her National ticket, and Lola won. Another great Cocker weekend for us this Spring!
After the trial we headed for Niagara Falls and since the dogs had all done well we didn't feel the need to do any water work. We enjoyed the spectacle, got home Monday night, and headed to the store to get a new phone on Tuesday!

After a busy weekend for Lighthouse Kennels dogs and people, Tuesday Training Day was busy, too. Beautiful weather, good people and dogs, including puppies!!

He is out of our trial dog Gus.. and our Ike gal Latte… this guy LOVES his people and birds !!

Our last Latte pup hanging out with Kaye at training. He has a huge off switch, loves his birds and loves being with people. He will make someone a great family member.

Most of the Tuesday Training Group weren’t dissuaded by the mid-morning torrential rains - a little, ok, a lot of visiting time, a little training in the rain, but we eventually out-waited the rain and had sun time / fun time.
