With warmer weather heading our way, we have some helpful reminders for pet owners!

Protect your pets from the heat, particularly dogs who are active outdoors. We unfortunately see a variety of heat/summer-related issues at our hospital, including heat stroke, foxtails, and paw injury due to exposure to hot asphalt.

Take time to consider what would be best for your pet on warmer days, sometimes that means leaving them at home or shortening a planned adventure to account for hotter temperatures.

When at Camarillo Groove Park, stay alert to possible rattlesnakes
A friend reported today: “Saw 3 rattle snakes during my hike. The second one scared the heck out of us since long and thick.”

Springville Dog Park will be closed March 24 - April 28 for turf maintenance AND wrought iron fence replacement.

This would be a great time to visit the fenced Freedom Dog Park by the airport & VCAS if you have not been there yet.
