🚨 WHY HAS NO ONE COME FOR HER? 🚨

Keira is STILL sitting at the shelter… waiting. Watching people walk by. Being passed over again and again.

Please—don’t scroll past her.

She’s been here for months after we trapped her, and somehow she’s become invisible in a sea of shepherds.
And the worst part?
It’s all because of first impressions.

At her kennel, she barks. And that’s all people think they need to see.

“She’s aggressive.”
“She doesn’t like me.”
“She’s not friendly.”

But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

✨ TAKE HER OUT. CHANGE HER WORLD. ✨

The moment you remove that barrier, everything changes.

She locks eyes with you.She walks right beside you. She chooses to connect.

She is smart, eager, and so ready to bond with someone who gives her a real chance.

She loves belly rubs.
She plays in the kiddie pool like a happy, carefree dog.
She’s learning toys—and it’s absolutely heart-melting.
She’s even done agility work!

Volunteers LOVE her. She’s easy to walk, focused, and so rewarding to spend time with.

This is the kind of shepherd people say they want—loyal, driven, and ready to be your adventure partner.

💔 But none of that matters if no one comes to meet her.

👉 PLEASE SHARE THIS POST
👉 TAG someone looking for a shepherd.
👉 TELL people to meet her outside the kennel.

She needs someone willing to give her 5 minutes outside that door.

She is at the Simi Shelter
670 W. Los Angeles Ave, Simi Valley, CA
Ask for Keira (A # 876976) She is 3 years old!

Her person is out there. Let’s help them find her.

Don’t let her be overlooked anymore!

Yesterday (Memorial Day) our Tennessee team trapped this boy in Whitleyville, TN. He had been living in a drainpipe on a curvy mountain road for the past 3 weeks we know of. How he knew to pick the one drain pipe with no water in it during all these back to back rain storms in Tennessee lately is sheer luck. It kept him dry but must have been scary for him.

Several people were feeding him and trying to secure him, but he was too scared to go to anyone even though some were able to hand feed him. Many others would just happen to see him and drop some food as they were passing through. 2 people posted about him on social media and we are grateful they did so we could be made aware he needed help.

We knew he may not be hungry enough to go in a trap, because everyone was feeding him. But we also knew he loved toys. So we loaded up the trap with a few toys and some amazing smelly food and we hoped he would go for it.

It was a very dangerous area for him to be in. It was a hairpin turn on top of a remote mountain. At first we could not find him, he was not in his tunnel. But then we saw him down the road. Unfortunately we saw him standing out in the road, while we were watching from far away. It made us so nervous. Every passing car also made him nervous. We needed him safe asap and he had to make his way back up to the guardrail, tunnel and trap area.

We hoped that it would be quiet enough for him to go in our trap and that a car didn't scare him if he got to it. We had to set the trap very close to the road unfortunately because there were no other options. He slowly made his way back up. Walking along the guard rail in the road, as the other side had steep drop offs.

Thankfully, when he got to the trap area, he was interested in what was in the trap. A car came by just as he got there and he jumped away. But he came back. He sniffed a little more as we held our breath watching from 40 feet away. He walked halfway in and backed out. Our hearts sank, hoping he would go back in, and before another car came by.

Then it happened and he walked all the way in. We were so relieved he was finally safe. Some say he's been on that mountain for almost a month. He appears young and is sweet. He was covered in ticks.

He is now with a local resident who had been trying to help him and was feeding him daily for two weeks. She will hang onto him until stray hold is up and has named him Jaxon. We will be covering his medical costs and getting him vetted soon. He was found on the border of two rural counties that have no animal shelters. He was most likely dumped. He will be checked for a microchip at the vet's office also.

Thank you to everyone who looked out for him and tried to help him. If you would like to help donate towards Jaxon's medical care and neuter, please let us know.

Safe! This girl had been running an area in Cookeville, TN for 3 days, crossing the road with traffic at 45mph 😬. Several people tried to help her but she was just too skittish to come to anyone. They posted sightings of her on local missing pet pages and we saw those and wanted to try and help her.

Jo Ann went out on Saturday to see what she could do for her. Luckily she was able to find her after almost an hour of searching. She even watched her cross that same busy road while she went from a field into another large property. With cars whizzing by fast, it was a miracle she had not gotten hit.

Once she crossed over onto the large property, which was a livestock and animal auction location, Jo Ann saw her go to the back area and howl, as if looking for an owner. Just about that time a really intense storm came through. Jo Ann had dropped a trap but with the rain, she had to move it. She kept an eye out for her during the storm and hoped she had snuck into the metal building somewhere to keep safe.

Once the heavy rain, thunder and lightning passed, Jo Ann found her and noticed the dog was staying closer to the back property area. She saw the dog hanging out there, barking and howling again. Our gut told us this was probably the parking area where she may have been dumped. Jo Ann moved the trap closer to where she was and within minutes this hungry girl went right in it!

She took her over to the Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter where they will scan her for a chip and she could finally have a dry place to sleep and not be at risk of getting hit by a car.

She is gorgeous and appears young. People in the area, including the auction owner, think that she was dumped potentially after one of the animal auctions last Tuesday night. She had not been seen in the area prior to that.

We are hoping she does has an owner that comes to get her, but if not, at least she's not gonna get hit by a car on the street. If no owner comes for her, hopefully someone will go over and adopt her. She was skittish at first, but after spending a little time with her, she warmed up and she was taking food from her hand. If she was dumped, we are sure it's been scary for her trying to survive out there by herself in an area she doesn't know.

Thank you to all who posted the sightings, it brought awareness to her and we just had to help her! 🐾🐾❤️

Sometimes it's the right place, but the wrong dog. After posters went up for a recent rescue, Goldie aka Mango, in Goleta, California, the phone finally rang with the kind of lead we had been hoping for. A woman named Lisa called to say she thought she had seen the dog we were searching for near the dumpster outside her apartment building. She said the dog was standing there quietly, but the second it noticed her, it bolted. That certainly sounded promising and we hoped it would be Goldie.

Not long after, another woman named Sarah called with a possible sighting of her own. She was not completely sure the dog was alone, but she could not confirm that the man nearby was the owner either. The dog had no collar, no leash, and as Sarah drove away, she watched in her rearview mirror as the dog and the man went their separate ways at the crosswalk. The most intriguing part? These sightings came from different addresses on the very same street. That was enough to make us think the dog was on the move—and that we needed to move and get there fast. Goldie or not, this dog needed help.

Justice was thrilled to get the information. After a couple of nerve-rattling days of waiting for sightings on Goldie, even a slim lead felt like a lifeline. She headed out right away to check both addresses, hoping to spot the dog—or at least get one step closer. Unfortunately, the dog was nowhere to be found, so she kept canvassing the area. Then, the next day, another call came in. A man named Bill reported that he thought he had seen our dog a few days earlier in the exact same location Lisa had described. He said the dog got scared when it saw him and darted into the bushes.

Bill could not remember the precise day, but we confirmed it had been within the last few days. That was all we needed. Justice and Goldie's owner were together and moved quickly, thinking this might finally be the break that would lead them to the missing pup.

When they arrived, Justice immediately spotted signs that someone had been feeding a dog there. Right beside the dumpster sat a bowl of water and a few small loaves of bread—hardly a gourmet spread, but definitely a clue. Justice quickly and quietly removed the bread, then set a trap baited with something far more convincing: tasty kielbasa. With our live camera set, she and the owner slipped around the corner to wait and watch.

They did not have to wait long. As they monitored the footage and saw a dog step into the trap, their hearts jumped—then did a complete double take. The dog on the screen was not the one they had been searching for at all. Sadly it was not Goldie/Mango.

When they reached the trap, they did everything they could to comfort the little dog. They had no idea how she had ended up living out in the bushes, but one thing was obvious: she had been out there for a while, and she needed help. It was a miracle she had not been hit by a car since she was running right near a busy intersection.

She looked recently groomed, which gave us hope that we might be able to locate her owner quickly. We searched missing pet listings in the area, but no match turned up for the little lady. So we did what we knew gave her the best chance of getting home: we took her to the shelter. We did not have our scanner with us so we knew they would check her for a microchip as well. She did not understand that we were trying to help, and when the shelter staff came to take her from us, she looked at us with the kind of heartbreak only a lost dog can deliver.

The BEST news came a few days ago when we heard this beautiful little poodle mix was reunited with her owner. This rescue was bittersweet, since we are still searching for Goldie/Mango, but we are incredibly grateful that this sweet girl crossed our path. Even in the middle of an ongoing search, we were able to help one lost dog get back to where she belongs … and that is a win worth celebrating.

Calling Ventura County, CA residents!!

Kendall needs help. She is the gorgeous brindle that we caught after she was living in the wash in Camarillo, all alone for over a month.

She is sweet but shy as can be. Often turning away as if she doesn't see anyone, they won't see her. 💔

Unfortunately, she is so shut down in the shelter, volunteers have to carry her out to a yard to stretch her legs.

She does take treats gently and is interested in other dogs. She will tail wag thru the fence! She is NOT aggressive at all!

She is currently at the Simi Shelter as it's a bit more calm but they don't do playgroups there. We know that Kendall was with another dog at one point because he was picked up a month before she was caught. What we expect is that another dog is going to help her become an amazing dog. Hmmm. Sounds familiar right? (Mulligan is a total dog for your dog!)

Anyways, before she gets put on a Call to Action list, we are asking everyone to share her to hopefully find a foster home (or a forever home) that is willing to be patient with her. She will look at you with those soulful eyes and just melt your heart.

Here is the link to apply to foster her. Is anyone willing to help this girl? Please go meet her!

If you can't foster, please share her, we desperately need to help her. Her A # is A878339

❤️🐾🐾 We are overjoyed to share that the German Shepherd we rescued from Angeles Crest has absolutely found her forever home! Her new name is now Millie.

After potentially months of living alone in the Angeles National Forest, Millie was adopted by Kyle and Catherine. Kyle was one of the Montrose Search & Rescue Deputies who assisted in feeding her and checking camera footage while she was alone out there! He and his girlfriend also helped Justice at 6am get the trap moved when she was caught!

She did go to the shelter for a stray hold, where they determined she had a microchip and was already spayed. Sadly, but not surprising, the owners didn't reclaim her.

Kyle and Catherine brought her home and introduced her to Charlie, who they also rescued after he was abandoned. Charlie is totally smitten with Millie and they have become the best of friends already!

These are the kind of amazing updates that we love to share!

Enjoy your new life Millie, you deserve it!
