DIY Dehydrated White Fish Fillet Crisps for dogs with Crunchy Protein-Rich Bites
Ingredients:
* 2 lb (910 g) white fish fillets (boneless, skinless, such as cod, haddock, or tilapia, patted dry)
* 1 tbsp (15 ml) water (for lightly moistening if needed during preparation)
Supplements:
None
Instructions:
1. Preheat a dehydrator to 145°F (63°C) or an oven to its lowest setting, about 170°F (77°C).
2. Check the fish carefully and remove all bones. Cut fillets into thin strips about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick to match the crispy pieces shown in the image.
3. Arrange the strips in a single layer on dehydrator trays or a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between pieces.
4. Dehydrate for 8–12 hours, or bake for 3–4 hours, turning halfway through, until the fish is completely dry and crisp.
5. Cool fully at room temperature before serving. The pieces should snap rather than bend.
6. Break larger strips into bite-size pieces if desired.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
Benefits:
* High-quality fish protein supports muscle maintenance and overall health.
* Naturally low in carbohydrates and made with a single primary ingredient.
