Last weekend we added two little goatie girls to the sanctuary! 😍

Introducing… Willow & Dottie! These two girls came from a nice home where the focus was on milk production. Willow had chronic mastitis with her last kids and Dottie isn’t an easy milker, so they just were no longer a good fit for the family’s needs… Well, we don’t worry about that here!! These girls are free to just be goaties and eat all the hay their little hearts desire! They are so sweet and I’m smitten. 🥰❤️❤️

I’m not going to lie, though, I’m having a difficult time getting back on track after losing George… 😞

In the midst of our sadness about saying goodbye to George last week, we were also blessed by Family Impact Centers with this giant cat litter donation for the cat sanctuary!! 🙀

There once was a goat I called George,
Who believed he was King of the gorge.
He'd ignore me all day,
Till treats came his way,
Then he'd love me... for snacks, but not more.

Rest in peace to a very special goatie. My unicorn. 🦄
I’m grateful for every day I got to spend with him, especially after last May when I didn’t expect him to come home from MSU. I had some concerns that he wasn’t keeping on weight and the vet had been out twice in the past couple of weeks, including yesterday, but it wasn’t enough to make him better. We found him this morning, he was already gone. 😞
