For those of you who like to trail ride.
Isn’t it fascinating that once you put
the horse on the well worn path,
you don’t really have to guide them much.
They like to stay right there.
I remember when I rode a mule
down the steep grand canyon.
I just put my reins over the horn
enjoying the view while taking 100’s of pictures,
I didn’t worry about directing the mule,
I knew she would stay on the well-worn path.
She had been down that path many times.

A well-worn path is important
in our Christian journey,
because it helps us conform our character
to Christ’s as we walk.
When we refuse to walk beside the Lord Jesus,
rejecting His invitation to make
those well-worn ways in our lives like:
prayer, praise, thanksgiving,
Bible reading, Scripture meditation,
and solitude with Him- a priority,
we prove that “all we like sheep have gone astray.
We have turned every one to his own way…”
When we go our own way,
the well-worn path gets overgrown,
and the paths we choose for ourselves
disappear in dangerous cliffs or forest,
leaving us lost.
But Jesus keeps interrupting our wayward path,
catching up to us, walking beside us,
pointing out the way we should go,
right back to the well-worn path.
All we have to do is agree to get back on
the well worn path and take the first step.
Have you gotten off the well-worn path?
Pray:
Father, forgive me for choosing my way again,
I am ready to choose the way of faithfulness…
Put false ways far from me
and graciously teach me Your way!
I will walk the well worn paths of righteousness
by yielding to Holy Spirit guidance.
I wil follow Your commandments
as you enlarge my heart and understanding.
In Jesus Name I pray AMEN.

If you follow my page
you may know that I have been working with Becky Pearson from Pivot Point Equine and Rider Rehab because without her help
I know that my riding days may be limited.
She will be in Burwell again the afternoon of Aug 14th
If you would like to book an evaluation session with her in person.
Go to her website or fb page.
If you can't come to Burwell she does do online sessions with you as well.
I am following an exercise plan she designed for me so that I can keep riding. It has helped me a lot with strength and flexibility.
I am mounting my 16.2 hand horse Rose ad lot easier.
Please let me know if you are want to come to Burwell that day.
You won't regret it.
Your body and horse will thank you.

We changed the date to Oct 4th
because we realized JunkJaunt is the week before.
As we get closer I will be creating a fb event to invite you all so you don't forget.
I know it is a ways off yet, but I hope you will set aside the date.
I attended this event last year as a participant and it was wonderful, so I hope you will join us.
at Heartland Youth Ranch they have a wonderful ministry.
I am excited to be a part of it.
I will also be speaking in 5 other places in NE in Aug and Sept. see comments for dates and places

This cute little girl was my riding student today.
Sonny was so good for her,
She even loped around the barrels.
She has been taking lessons with me since she was like 4 years old.
She started with Angel.
She was so proud of her new western outfit today.
She went shopping at Dry Creek Western Wear.
She looked like a real cowgirl today,
and acted like one too.
She is a sweetheart.
I am so glad to have her in my life.
I forgot to get a pic of her on Sonny today.
But her grandma shared this cute picture of her.

My horse Sonny sure gets bugged by insects.
He doesn't have a mane or tail because of his appy roots.
I had to get a fake tail on a stick to carry when I ride him...
because a fake tail won't stay attached to his tail.
He trust me to help him get the pest off him,
therefore the ride is a lot more pleasant for both of us.
He stays a lot more calm when I ride with my swatter.
He even shows me where the pests are so I can swat them.
Can't you see that Jesus has a big fly swatter for you.
He wants you to trust him and stay calm,, because
He has the oil of the Holy Spirit which is like
insect repellant against the things that are bugging you.
So like Sonny tells me where to swat,
Tell Jesus what's bugging you,
and trust Him to help calm you.

We may be old gals...but we horsewomen are always little girls who fell in love with horses.
We were never the same.
Even when we cant ride any more in our hearts we will always ride.

Not many places you can ride without mud after 3 days of at least 6 inches of rain. But the sandhills are like a sponge absorbing it nicely.
Most people don't believe me until they have actually
experienced it.
And another thing we do have nice cool breezes in the summer time in the early morning but you gotta get up early to enjoy it.
No sleeping in.

I didn't have guests this weekend, so I did the colored pencil piece for the open show at the fair.
But I have riders next two weekends so I will have to bare the heat.
Hope it cools off a little.
