Please share! Lark is going to make someone very happy...

Here are some words from her foster!

"Meet LARK ! She’s an adorable, cuddly, almost 8 year old Norwegian Elkhound mix ( 80 % elkhound/20% GSD) who is looking for a new home without small children.

Lark had a very happy, carefree, adventurous life with a family who adored her until their baby became a toddler. Although she adored him as an infant, Lark became nervous around the quick moving, unpredictable toddler he turned into and she chose to avoid him by staying in her crate for hours on end. Lark’s family wanted more for her. Enter CCR!

In her foster home Lark has shown herself to be a real trooper, taking in all that life has to offer here( especially swimming!) with joy! She has lived peacefully with a cat and a dog in her home and is integrating well into her foster home with the two resident elkhounds.
Her silly, goofy, happy, loving self is evident in foster care. She bonded quickly with the adults around her but prefers a calm introduction and time to warm up before becoming your best friend for life!

Lark is very healthy, spayed, up to date on all immunizations, heartworm negative.

She reportedly can have big feelings about meeting other dogs on leash or behind barriers but the foster mom has yet to see this behavior.
A trainer is working with her to brush up on her leash walking skills and manners. She knows sit, stay, down, place, twirl!

Lark would make some lucky person or couple the best friend, adventure buddy, and cuddle buddy ever."

🥰 Thanks, Natalie! Come back any time 😁

Mutty Waters is in great shape. If you've ever thought of renting it, now's the time! The pond is clear, the glass is mowed. 1/2 acre fully fenced for your dog to do all the dog things.

Pack walks and Drop-in Classes are now on Sundays! Meet up will be 10am. See you there! Sign up at link in bio or click below.

If you have ANY problem with the booking links, please message me, or let me know if you prefer to book via text/email etc.

If you have not worked with me before, one single private lesson is required before signing up for Drop-Ins to learn the basics. If you've gone through my beginner class or you are a present or past private client, then feel free to sign up!

Not sure if these are right for you and your dog? Message me!

Drop-Ins: These are group classes held at my farm in Green Mountain. This is not a series, so you can sign up for as many as you want, one by one. Each week will have a topic that we will work on. The goal is to improve skills and have the dogs work with the distraction of the group. We take lots of sniff breaks but the dogs will not interact directly.

Pack walks: This is a casual group walk with our dogs! The purpose is the get the dogs calm and comfortable walking beside each other with very limited direct interaction. These will be held at local parks and trails.

Easy to train and so useful! A lot of people train dogs to wait inside of doors and gates while they open... but then when they release the dog, they SHOOT through! I want engagement OUTSIDE the threshold so I have my dog's attention when it matters.

Love this guy but I was afraid I was going to lose a finger handing him treats!

Try this: show your dog that you have a treat. Use something lower value- like kibble! Present it to them in a closed fist. They might bite your hand at first, but likely if they can't SEE the food, they will investigate first. Let them experiment until they lick your hand. At that moment, open your hand and feed with a flat palm. After a while, your dog will get into the habit of slowing down and start being gentle when food is presented. Try it out!

Remember that the more excited your dog is, the more likely they are to snap at the treats!

This video was taken after I had already shaped the behavior a bit. I did get a little chewed on first, but you can see he is getting the hang of it!

Dogs dig. They also bark, jump, chew, eat rabbit s**t, lay down in mud puddles, roll in the good stinks, chase squirrels, and sniff butts. If all of these behaviors sound "bad" to you... maybe you don't like dogs?
