Preventing matting is essential for your doodle or poodle’s coat health and appearance. These curly or wavy coats can easily tangle, but with a little care, you can keep them looking fabulous! Here’s how to prevent those pesky mats:

1. Regular Brushing 💫
Brush your dog’s coat 2-3 times a week to keep tangles and mats at bay. A high-quality pin brush or slicker brush works wonders to gently work through the fur. Regular brushing also promotes healthy skin!

2. Detangling Spray 💧
Before brushing, apply a dog-friendly detangling spray to loosen up any knots. This makes brushing easier and helps you avoid tugging on their delicate hair!

3. Frequent Trims ✂️
Regular trims help maintain a manageable coat length and reduce the chances of mats forming. Be sure to focus on areas like the ears, underarms, and legs where mats can form more easily.

4. Bathing and Drying 🛁

Today, Finn got the full spa treatment! 🛁✂️ He had a bath, a fresh haircut, and his nails dremeled. Finn was such a good boy—he loves to sit and lay down during grooming, but that’s no problem here! Since I take each dog by appointment only, I always give them the patient, one-on-one care they deserve.
