A frequently misunderstood aspect of environmental enrichment is the simple need for hiding places. When people hear that a cat is “hiding,” it’s easy to assume something is wrong. Certainly, cats will retreat when they’re frightened, and helping them feel safe and confident is an important part of good care, but hiding isn’t inherently negative. Access to safe, intentional places to retreat is essential to help cats have a sense of security, control, and comfort when they feel unsure, scared, or even just want to be undisturbed. Adopted ❤️Delia is an 8 month old petite darling looking for a loving home. She showed up outside at a catfriend's home in December and she took her in. Sherlock is around 4 years old, fixed, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative and treated for fleas/earmites/worms. His people moved and left him behind and a kind neighbor was tending to him all summer until I took him in as the weather is changing. He is a bit timid but friendly and looking for a warm loving home.
