Morning weigh-ins around here turn into a whole vibe — tails wagging, tiny feet dancing, and a whole lot of puppy energy to start the day. We may be having way too much fun, but there’s a very important reason behind it.

We track weights every single day to:
• Ensure each puppy is nursing and growing properly
• Catch even the smallest changes early
• Make sure no puppy is falling behind
• Provide accurate, transparent records for buyers and our vet

Hey Cerberus Fam! 🐺 Time for a little history lesson with a side of pride and fun — because if you love Cane Corsos, you should know where they came from and why ICCF is such a big deal.

🌍 Ancient Roots — Not Just Another “New” Dog Breed
The Cane Corso didn’t just pop up 15 years ago — these dogs go WAY back! They’re a Molossoid breed descended from the ancient Roman canis pugnax⁠ — fearless imperial war dogs used for protection, hunting, and even battlefield duties. Their ancestors guarded farms, drove livestock, and protected families for centuries before they became show rings’ darlings. 

📜 Saving the Breed — The ICCF Story
Fast forward to the late 20th century — the Corso had nearly vanished from the Italian countryside. In the U.S., passionate fanciers stepped in: in 1992/1993, the International Cane Corso Federation (ICCF) was established as the first Cane Corso registry and club in the United States — long before most modern breed clubs were even thinking about it. 

That means ICCF has been around for about 30+ years — nearly a whole generation of Corsos — compared to the AKC, which didn’t officially recognize the Cane Corso until 2010 (only ~15 years ago). 

🏆 Why ICCF Matters
✔ Oldest Cane Corso registry in the U.S. — the OG Cane Corso club. 
✔ Focus on original Corso traits — working ability, structure, heritage. 
✔ Extended pedigrees & titles — ICCF registers multiple generations and accomplishments that predate AKC standards.
