The thoracic sling plays a huge role in how a horse supports and moves their body. Because it has no bony attachment to the front limbs, these muscles and soft tissues work hard to suspend the horse’s trunk between the forelimbs.
Manual massage and thoughtful bodywork can help us assess and address tension in this often-overlooked area. But don’t stop at the structures you can easily see or reach.
Look underneath. Look between. Look beyond the obvious. 👀
