This is the third day in a row posting the adoption opportunity for K-9 Pope. The first two days resulted in zero qualified applicants. So today I am simply asking everyone to just SHARE this post in hopes we can find this Hero the perfect forever home.

Bottom line is he is a retired federal Police K-9 who did explosive detection in Washington D.C. at the highest levels of government.

Pope needed a new home in retirement due to him being extremely dog aggressive, and could not live with the new K-9 Partner.

He is a very social dog and great with people, he simply needs to go to a home with no other animals!

We at Project K-9 Hero are extremely honored to be a trusted resource for Law Enforcement and Government Agencies globally when a Hero like Pope needs our help the most.

The shelter told me owners would only have 4 days to claim their pup if in the shelter and that owners often don’t come looking that soon, but through the shelter-at-home option maybe they could have more time so I guess we’re fostering! If you’re the owner please DM me with identifying information to confirm this pup is yours!

If you haven't already heard, 300+ dogs and cats were seized from a rescue in Lake Hughes. Whether it's a hoarding case or a rescue that ran off the rails, these details don't matter; what matters is that every shelter in the county will be GREATLY over capacity. If you were thinking about adopting or fostering, this would be a great time. Any pet you can take home will make space for one of the hundreds that was seized from this property.

Shelters across Los Angeles County are urging the public to adopt or foster pets after more than 300 animals were seized from a home in Lake Hughes last week.

In Loving Memory of Abby:
My most sweetest Abby crossed the rainbow bridge on 01/18/2026. We were lucky to have adopted her from the shelter when she was 9 months old. She gave us an amazing 13 1/2 years of love and happiness. She loved car rides, sun bathing, going to the park and walks. She hated the beach haha or should I say, cold ocean water. She always knew what she wanted and was very smart. She was our protector and emotional support. My Abby, you will be missed greatly. Forever in our hearts. Until we meet again, my baby girl.
Thank you Peaceful Paws and Dr. Chan for allowing my baby to pass in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by all her loved ones.

CATC Burbank - Community Animal Treatment Center is a wonderful place that is currently in need of additional support. 💔 Important Community Cat Update 💔

As of January 31, 2026, we learned that FixNation will no longer be funding community cat spay/neuter services at CATC. This decision is heartbreaking, as protecting and caring for community cats remains at the core of our mission.

With our 2026 TNR funding still unsecured, all free TNR appointments scheduled for February must be modified or canceled.

🐾 Services still available:
• Community cats with a Community Cat Program Voucher
• Discounted TNR: $100 males / $120 females

We know how difficult this is for caregivers and rescue partners. Please know we are actively working to secure funding and continue free services whenever possible.
