This year, we helped many animals heal, recover, and stay with the people who loved them.

And this year, we also lost some...more than we can put in pictures. Some we could see coming, and some that came out of the blue.

Not every story ends the way we want it to. Some animals come to us already carrying more than their small bodies can bear—rare illnesses, advanced disease, complications that no amount of love or medicine can fully undo.

We remember these helpless souls not as failures, but as lives that mattered. Lives that were seen, comforted, and fought for.

At Clowder 9 Ranch, much of our work is preventative—spay/neuter, vaccines, basic medical care that keeps families together. But sometimes we are called into the hard places. The unusual cases. The critical moments where doing nothing was never an option, even when the outcome was uncertain.

We carry the ones we lost with us. They shape the work we do, the choices we make, and the urgency we feel to keep showing up.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us this year—through the wins and the heartbreaks. Your support means these animals were never alone. 🐾🤍

When a simple “thank you” doesn’t feel like enough, please know this:

Your support doesn’t just help animals—it strengthens families, prevents suffering, and builds a kinder community.

Because of our donors and supporters, we were able to stand with animals and the people who love them through another year of meaningful work. Thank you for believing in our mission and making this possible. 💛🐾

Hi. It’s us.

The tiny animal rescue with the big medical bills.

Clowder 9 Ranch is a small animal-welfare nonprofit, and on most days, we help with the basics - spay/neuter funding, vaccines, and basic medical care so animals can stay healthy and stay home.

But then there are those cases—the unusual ones, the critical ones, the “if we don’t step in, no one will” moments. Those are the cases that stretch us the most… and the ones we never want to turn away from.

These are just a small handful of the critical, unusual, and unique cases we helped this year:

🐾 Celeste, Darby, Java, Andy - Ear ticks (not just one or two...at least 40 in each ear of each cat...I have proof) - leading to anemia and infection (Java, calico in back, passed away). The others are healing and will be ready for adoption soon.

🐾 Mordi - Diabetes, CE, Colitis (on experimental FMT treatment - improving)

🐾 Allen - MPS VI (Mucopolysaccharidosis type VI - no known treatment - also known as Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome in humans) - Thriving in his new home, living his best life with his brother who has the same genetic disorder.

🐾 Archie - The most challenging case of FIP I've ever encountered or treated - He's now kicking butt and living large (like over 10lbs large).

🐾 Sunny - Mucogingival avulsion (severe dental and mouth trauma) - With the help of her dedicated foster family, she healed up perfectly and has been adopted.
🐾 DJ - Severe GI disorder & malnutrition (from being fed human food) - Now 100% and ready for adoption (with his BFF PTT).

🐾 Princess T***kle Toes (PTT) - Severe traumatic brain injury with post-concussion syndrome (one of my scariest, unknown cases ever!) Now 100% and ready for adoption (with her BFF DJ).

Without intervention, cats like these don't have much chance of survival. Your donations and support keep our lights on, our treatment bags stocked, and give them the second chance they deserve.

If you have a little extra to spare before the end of the year, it helps us say yes when it matters most. And yes—we will probably cry a little (okay, so a lot) in gratitude.

Thanks for being part of our clowder. 🐾

As we look back on 2025 and the many (MANY) critters we helped this year at C9R, it is only fair to show you where and to whom your support goes. It's no surprise that over 50% of our costs are dedicated to medical-related expenses. This year, those costs hit nearly $15,000.

Although not an extensive photo album, these precious faces were all recipients of our free vaccine program! Preventable diseases (such as panleukopenia, Parvovirus, and parasites) are the #1 killers of young puppies and kittens. We aim to stop that by offering free combo vaccines and deworming. On average, a kitten vaccine and deworming costs about $7 to $8. Puppies are slightly more expensive, ranging from about $13 to $15 each. This year, we have purchased and used nearly 100 vaccines, 3 bottles of dewormer, and countless needles and syringes.

If you don't think a $5 donation helps...believe me it can be the difference between life and death!

BREAKDOWN OF EXPENSES IN 2025:
~ 52% of our expenses are for Veterinary & Medical Bills (spay/neuter, vaccines, FIP medicine, supplements, therapeutics, etc.)
~ 23% of our expenses are for Food
~ 8% of our expenses are for Utilities (phone, internet, propane, etc.)
~ 7% of our expenses are for Supplies (litter, p*e pads, syringes, needles, etc.)
~ 5% of our expenses are for Administrative fees (shipping, credit card fees, bank fees, corporate filings, etc.)
~ 3% of our costs are for Fuel (house calls, transport, etc.)
~1 % of our costs are for Marketing (printing, Canva, etc.)

Hey C9R friends,

We wish this were one of those polished, perfectly planned fundraising posts…

But it’s not.

It’s just a small nonprofit quietly asking for help before the year ends.

Clowder 9 Ranch exists to support pet families and fosters before a crisis becomes a surrender. And right now, our ability to keep doing that depends on year-end donations.

If you can give, we’re incredibly grateful.
If you can’t, sharing this helps more than you know.

Either way—thank you for seeing us and supporting us.

We're a little behind on saying "THANK MEW" for the ameowzing donations of some of our everyday favorite supplies from our Chewy wishlist (p*e pads not shown, but receivd and in use). We're not sure who the donation angel is, but we are so incredibly grateful for the generosity.

Where would you like to start??? LOTS going on here at the ranch, LOTS of it GOOD! Betcha didnt think you'd hear me say that 🤪🤪

First, school is over for the semester, and while grades don't come out until next week, I'm relatively confident that I will be continuing the 4.0 GPA. 🎉

Second, Bandit (our other diabetic kitty) is now on the journey for a diagnosis to try to explain his 2 year uncontrolled diabetes. We're starting with an IGF-1 blood test to explore possible acromegaly. Should have those results next week 🙏

Third, the ranch is growing...not by choice though 😋 These turkeys and ducks have been cared for by our former neighbor who passed away a couple months ago, and when other neighbors started clear cutting, many critters got a littlw displaced. They now take refuge here. Same is said for the numerous Canadian Geese that cover the pond every morning. It's warm here in So. Idaho, and the pond doesnt usually freeze much (natural underground creek) so we are a home away from home for them.

December is shaping up to be a wonderful way to end the year.

I am SO sorry for not posting sooner with an update about Mordi...but it's been crazy with finals prep and testing.

So, after lots of care and throwing things at it, he's doing better...finally much better. He has started doing more of his "normal" things, like drinking with his paw, taking all the toys out of the toy box and bringing them to the bedroom, chatting up a storm when we go to bed, sleeping on my pillow at night, and coming out to the table for breakfast and dinner.

We have just 2 more doses of antibiotics, and have been doing red light therapy and FMT treatment to restore his gut biome...and he is perkier, hungrier, and having better 💩

Still doing lots of monitoring, but watching him healing and getting back to his normal self is just the gift I needed this year.

Mordi Update - Well, our boy had a full workup done today, and the only two things we see are an elevated white blood count and his colon is enlarged and inflamed. Kidney values and liver values are good. Glucose is stable. No signs of a urinary tract infection or stones. And his teeth are not showing to be the issue. So for now we focus on the bacterial infection likely in his color (owie 😿😿). He's gonna stay the night there and hopefully get some good poops in to flush that out. If not, likely and e***a followed by another x-ray to see how he's shaping up.

No real answer as to why this happened, we just know he's in a good amount of pain and discomfort. So grateful for the care and attention he's getting and we hope and pray soon he'll be home and on the road to recovery.

Thank you all for the love and prayers.

This pic is him cuddling with T***k when she wasnt feeling well 💓

Hey friends 🧡 We could use a little extra prayer for Mr. Mordi Kai, our bestest ever foster papa at C9R. The last couple of weeks he's been less enthusiastic about breakfast and dinner, but was still eating and drinking well and being "normal" talkative Mordi. Thursday night we noticed he was a little less talkative, and come Friday, he was just sullen and hidding out in the cupboard (his normal favorite spot). We've been doing our normal program of fluids and B vitamins and monitoring p*es and poops. We did notice that he had some nasty 💩 Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Today he hasn't given us anything. 🤔 He's p*eing well, so no blockage there. No vomiting or regurgitation (even with assisted feedings, he's keeping that down).

He gets to see the vet tomorrow and we will probably run the whole kit-n-kaboodle of tests (bloodwork, xray, fPL, etc.) And also take a good look at his mouth and throat (very suspicious in there).

Right now he's hanging out in his favorite spot with some gabapentin and famotidine on board as well as his mew favorite, the red light.

Please keep us in your prayers for answers that we can treat, and pray that Mr. Mordi gets back on track real soon. 🙏🧡
