Harper was found as a stray after being attacked by another dog. He has multiple bite wounds and is currently in our injured pets room, receiving regular checks and medication.

Right now, Harper is feeling down. He’s quiet, not very active, but he remains calm and gentle. He needs a patient, loving home to help him through his treatment and recovery.

Medical

4/20/25-Wounds throughout body, swollen face, possible dog fight. Active bleeding. Needs DVM attention. Carprofen given during intake.

PE- mulitple wounds to face/head/neck/forelimbs. Had to sedate to examine further and treat. Most of the body has been previously shaved.

Even sedated dog is too painful to clip and clean. Able to see puncture wounds in the oral mucosa on the R lower lip. Will start on antibiotics/pain meds and recheck in a few days.

Shelter Observation

4/22- Depressed, sitting on bed. No interest in interaction when called to. Did not take treats. Tolerant of petting.

Much worse than we expected! Sugar is currently at the vet unable to leave she has to stay the night her white blood cell count is over 40,000 😩😩🆘🆘 she has to have emergency surgery in the morning and a possible blood transfusion! IM SO SAD FOR THESE DOGS AND THE SEVERITY OF THEIR CONDITION!!!

He is approximately 5 years old and 85 pounds of pure teddy bear! Wally is a happy-go-lucky dude with a spirit that brightens every room he enters. He adores walks, car rides, and trips to the park.

But Wally isn’t just about play; he’s also a cuddle champion! 🏆 He thrives on human companionship and is happiest when he’s surrounded by those he adores. Treat time? He’s all in! And as a quick learner, Wally has mastered basic commands and shows off his skills with pride. Thanks to his training at Niagara K9 Training Center, he’s not only house and crate trained but also knows how to sit, stay, and give you his paw with a big, goofy grin.

Wally has a heart as big as his personality, and while he’s good with older kids and can get along with select other dogs, he’ll need some gentle and slow introductions to ensure everyone feels comfortable. We don't know how he is with cats, but we’re happy to conduct a cat test for any interested adopters or fosters! 😻

Wally’s journey hasn’t always been easy, but he’s ready to show the world what love looks like. He’s been through training and has made incredible progress, impressing everyone with his intelligence and eagerness to please. He deserves a chance to thrive in a loving home.

THIS WORLD NEED A RUDE AWAKENING!!

I was on my way to a lesson today when I seen traffic slowed and this poor, old dog was literally in the middle of a busy intersection! No one stopping, no one helping! Of course I stopped out my hazards on and helped this dog to my car. I posted him everywhere and brought him to Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center to get him checked for a chip and let them keep him until the owner could be found. SADLY he does have a chip but the number is out of service. They also told me he wasn’t critical so they couldn’t take him in. The woman working told me if you can’t keep a stray don’t pick them up 🤯🥹😪 WHO SAYS THAT? So I should’ve left him to get ran over?? HOW CRUEL! So then I asked for the address of the owner and I could bring him home they said they can’t give that to me!! BUT IM SUPPOSED TO TAKE JIM IN AND CARE FOR HIM? THIS CANNOT BE LIFE!!!!! DO BETTER DALLAS! No wonder no one stops for strays or just dumps dogs! WHAT A SAD WORLD WE LIVE IN! 😪 IF ANYONE IS ABLE TO FOSTER HIM THET WOULD BE WONDERFUL, HE IS SO SWEET AND INNOCENT. Also he was full of fleas -and half ass shaved! I gave him a nextguard and I’ll bathe him. Don’t worry he’s not going back to someone who treated him this way or a shelter that wanted me to leave him at a busy intersection. UNBELIEVABLE 🥹
