Fur’st Choice is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured pet care provider. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician and CPR certified pet sitter.

In 2012 I graduated from Gwinnett Technical College with an Associates in Applied Science for Veterinary Medicine. For the past 5 years I was employed with VCA Peachtree Animal Hospital here in Chamblee, Georgia as their Lead Technician. I recently chose to become a stay at home mom for my two amazing children while at the same time continuing to care for our loving companions. I am genuinely pass

ionate about caring for the well being of animals and do so with compassion and enthusiasm. Due to my extensive background in veterinary medicine, I am cognitive of signs to a potential medical issue before it becomes serious. Should you currently have a pet with medical issues I will properly administer any and all medications and/or treatments as well as build a working relationship with your veterinarian. You may rest easy knowing your pet will be properly cared for while you are away.

July is hot. So it's the perfect time to celebrate Pet Hydration Awareness Month!

Fur'st Choice Pet Care would like to remind you to watch our for signs of dehydration (Gently pinch the skin on the back of the dog's neck or between the shoulder blades and observe how quickly it returns to its normal position. A well-hydrated dog's skin will snap back immediately, while a dehydrated dog's skin will be slow to return or may stay tented) and follow these 3 Tips to Keeping Your Pet Hydrated.

1. Offer fresh water at all times. Have multiple bowls available in the areas where your pet hangs out the most. Some pets prefer a fountain that keeps water running and fresh.
2. Put broth or ice cubes in the water dish to entice more drinking.
3. Add water to their food at meals to increase daily water intake.

One of our clients has recued this sweet dog! Abigail is a 2-year-old small pit mix, and would be a fantastic companion for a forever home. Adopting an adult dog, especially one that's already spayed and received a full vet check, comes with many benefits. As a 2 year old (estimated) she has a set personality, her size (40lbs) and coat should remain, she has been through a puppy stage already, and she is ready to be a part of her fur-ever home! We will know more in the next few weeks and will keep you all updated!

Happy World Cat Domination Day! Sure. All of these things seem like innocent cat behaviors, but they are really looking for you passwords to figure out how to order sushi, showing their dominance in the hierarchy, and seeing just how far to push you! Make sure to give your cat overlord daily food offerings, plenty of cardboard boxes to "fits" in, and lots of treats to keep them happy!
