Vaqueros y Charros Unidos de Brownsville is a horse club based out of Brownsville and has been in existence since 2007. In our club we have charros and vaqueros composed of ordinary local residents to include construction workers, business owners, police officers, retired people, etc. Once you own a horse, you are a horseman forever and you always strive to surround yourself with people that share
the same passion and speak the same vocabulary. We formed our club so we can support each other by exchanging horsemanship knowledge and experience in order to maintain our horses "saddle ready". Having a horse is not like having a motorcycle parked in a garage which is ready to go by the turn of a switch, it is much more than that. We emphasize in a family oriented environment and go on trail rides as often as possible. We have been participating in the Charro Days parade since we started the club. Participating in the Charro Days parade is like a reward for us for having invested countless hours taking care our horses. It is also very rewarding to display our horses in the parade in charro and vaquero attire which resembles who we are in the Rio Grande Valley, and we feel the people of Brownsville enjoy it as well and are appreciative of our efforts. We appreciate the Brownsville Charro Days Association for putting on this great event and their continued support! Thx
