🚨 SOS — Rescue Life Behind the Scenes 🚨

As often happens in rescue, we recently took in a rabbit with a severe flea infestation and ear mites. Even though he was treated BEFORE entering our rescue and kept separated the entire time, one of our sanctuary cats (one of the “unadoptable” babies nobody seems to want 😞) managed to sneak into the room with him.

Now SHE has fleas… which means now EVERYONE has to be treated. 😩

We are currently facing the cost of treating:
🐶 4 dogs
🐰 9 rabbits
🐱 11 cats

And unfortunately, several people in the home are highly allergic to flea bites as well.

If anyone has any extra:
• Revolution (cat or dog — we know proper dosing)
• Vet-recommended flea prevention for cats/dogs
• Seresto collars
• Advantage
• Or anything similar

Please consider donating to help us get this impending outbreak under control. Rescue work is incredibly rewarding, but situations like this become EXTREMELY expensive very quickly. 💔

Hey everyone!! I have a little request today! I need to pick up some veggies TODAY but I don’t get paid until tomorrow 🤦🏼‍♀️ Plus I have soooo many other things I need to pay for as well with my itty bitty paycheck 😭
FYI- I pet sit, will do light pet grooming AND I clean houses for side hustles, all for Steph's Community Pet Rescue- so reach out if you need anything!

Please help us welcome Captain Nemo! Poor Cap was found outside, loaded with ear mites, and a raging upper respiratory infection. Thankfully he’s seen the vet and is on the road to recovery ❤️ He’s a sweet gentle boy who if we do say so ourselves, is absolutely stunning too! Any time after Easter, we are inundated with abandoned rabbits. It’s a sad and avoidable outcome if people would just stop treating them like disposable gifts 😭

Today, because of a few amazing people, we were able to get almost ALL of the strong island ratties Alanna was fostering into different rescues that are open to adoptions! My (Emelia) one bedroom apartment is not exactly designed to house 36 animals, and tonight there are 16 fewer rats in my home than the night before.

It was actually supposed to be 12 fewer rats instead of 16, but it has been a tiring few weeks to say the least, and I accidentally sent four extra rats on a tour of New Jersey. Everyone was so incredibly helpful and understanding, with Bryan Cooper - Bunny Whisperer even offering to return them to us after his delivery before Steph's Community Pet Rescue agreed to keep the extras. Thank you both for jumping in ready to right my wrong 😂🤦!

Atlantic Critters Rescue took the other eight and we are so appreciative of them for doing so. All of the rats are going to be so well cared for!

This gets me down to 20! We have one more transport lined up later in the month, which I’ll post about when it gets closer. It should go much more smoothly. At that point I won’t have any more animals to accidentally send (knock on wood).

Enjoy this video of foster dog chaos at my “ Steph just rescues whatever shows up” rescue 🤣 while I beg for dog food, cat litter, rabbit litter, and hay! I am also taking in some rattles from our dear friend who passed so will add rat food etc. We have some of it listed on Amazon but we have to buy the rabbit litter from tractor supply! I also can get all of it there probably cheaper than Amazon but ANYTHING helps!!!

AND we are trying to raise funds for our little crabbit( he’s a cat but he hangs out with rabbits lol ) he was rescued near death and has made so so many strides but now he needs a wellness visit, shots , tests and his neuter! 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
